Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Kansas City

Have ordered from here twice in the last few weeks since I moved into the area. First order was delivery, and they completely screwed it up. Ordered two sandwiches and a bag of chips through the app. Received 1 sandwich (on the wrong type of bread), and my bag of chips. Called the store and was greeted with “JIMMY JOHNS!” and then nothing else, so I start explaining my problem and I’m told they won’t give me the right sandwiches since I did receive 1 but they’ll send my other sandwich as soon as they can. The receipt I got on the bag was right. So I don’t understand how a sandwich went missing and the other was made with the wrong bread. Whatever, I have 2 sandwiches. Tonight when I ordered in the store, I was the only customer in there. Still had to wait on the cashier before he took my order. But at least my sandwiches were right this time. I've always enjoyed Jimmy John's and my kiddos do as well. We usually stop by after school or an activity for a quick snack and I like how convenient it is for something simple and delicious. Recently I tried delivery for the first time as I always hear the advertisements about how fast they are. The online order process was simple and my order was delivered very expeditiously. I realized soon after that one of the 3 sandwiches wasn't what I had ordered or paid for so I called to let them know. Not only was the manager apologetic, but he offered to refund the value of it AND have the correct item delivered back. I wasn't expecting this level of professionalism but I certainly appreciate the way they handle business. I was willing to pay for the original item anyway, so I decided to give the difference as a tip to the great delivery driver that brought my food back. We're definitely fans of this...

The first time I went (not too long after they opened) I found a hair in my sub. It could happen anywhere.I get it- but that doesn’t make it any less gross.

Apparently they have widened their delivery area as a result of COVID. My experience was well before the pandemic so I’m wondering if they will maintain an expanded delivery area or go back to the 5 mile delivery at some point.

I decided to give them a second chance. I called for delivery and they told me they wouldn’t because I was 5.1 miles from their location and that they only deliver to places within a 5 mile radius. I mean seriously... THIS PLACE IS LITERALLY DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME AND TAKES 2-3 MINS TO GET THERE. I’m sure the extra 0.1 miles would have made a huge difference in drive time.
