We did take out at Thai Orchard in the Northland. I can't rate the service or atmosphere since I didn't pick up the order. I took pictures of some of the dishes we got after we started eating. 😬 The spring rolls were decent. You get three per order. The fresh mint and basil were a nice touch. The dipping sauce was good. They weren't wrapped that well. Overall, they were okay. Nothing that I would brag about. The skewered chicken was good too. I enjoyed both dipping sauces that came with it. Not necessarily something I would crave to order. I got the pad Thai. The red version or the ketchup version of pad Thai is not my preference. I've been to Thailand and have made homemade pad Thai. Red sauce pad thai is not good. There was a good size portion of tofu that came with the pad Thai, but it was super skimp on scallions, crushed peanuts, or other garnishes. I wouldn't order it again nor would I recommend it. It was also very dry. Maybe because it was carry out, but that's typical with red pad Thai versions, from my experience. We also got the pineapple fried rice with chicken. At first taste, I wasn't impressed. It seemed bland, but after the second bite I did notice the yellow curry taste. If you're not a fan of curry, mind you, that this has a yellow curry flavor. It was mild in taste. The fried rice is not like what you'd expect especially if you're expecting it to resemble Chinese fried rice. There wasn't much chicken in the fried rice or vegetables or garnish. It didn't have a lot of flavor or wow to it. Honestly that is the overall experiences of all the dishes: decent, but no wow factor. They have very few gluten free items on their menu.

My family and I ate here on opening day. The elevated takes on Thai food pleased my Asian-American palate, as well as my parents' traditional Asian palates. When ordering most dishes, you'll be asked for a spice amount. These range from mild to medium to hot. For something like the Crying Tiger Fried Rice, it'll already come with a good amount of spice. Order it medium if you want it really spicy, or hot if you want it REALLY spicy. Certain items' "hot" spice level isn't as spicy as others'. You'll just need to use your better judgement when ordering. Btw, the menu's overall spice level is akin to an actual Thai person's tolerance of spice. When in doubt, try asking your server. They've tried all the dishes, and would be able to help you out. The service was great. No notes. Ravey was a gracious host. Our server Heather was attentive and friendly. Just the right amount of check-ins at our table. Water was always topped up. There were always a number of servers within eyeshot should we have needed to flag one down. The atmosphere is modern, a little rustic. Comfortable booths, clean space, spacious floor. The other attendees brought a comfortable din to the environment with their conversation. Overall, this is a must try Thai restaurant. High-quality Thai food, homely service, all within a modern setting. My family and I have already decided to try our way through most of the other items on the menu, and will be back soon.

I recently visited Thai Orchid, and I have to say, the experience was exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and soothing traditional Thai music creating the perfect setting. But what really stood out was the incredible service and mouthwatering food. Our server, Hallie, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and truly passionate about the menu. She offered great recommendations and checked in with us at just the right moments, ensuring everything was perfect without being overbearing. Her enthusiasm for the food made the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors and beautifully presented. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced—tangy, savory, and just the right amount of spice. The green curry was creamy and aromatic, with tender chicken and perfectly cooked vegetables. Even the spring rolls we started with were crisp, golden, and paired with a fantastic sweet chili dipping sauce. Overall, Thai Orchid left a lasting impression, and I’ll definitely be returning. With Hallie’s exceptional service and the amazing food, it’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine.

I ordered delivery through their website which uses toasttab as an online platform, who then dispatches via doordash. The dasher proceeded to pick up my food, then cancel my order and stole it. I called the restaurant and they offered to remake my food and have me pick it up at a 20% discount. I was fine with picking up my food at this point, but having to pay yet again, was more than frustrating. As someone who works in the industry, I can't imagine having a customer pay twice when I had to go pick it up myself again anyway. With that being said, my entree was one solid chunk of rice noodles and undercooked. As much as I love this place, I will not be coming back.

Edited to clarify: They did say they will be refunding the original delivery when I called in to investigate the canceling of that after the delivery driver had stolen it. As I said before, as an owner in the industry, I would never make the customer pay a second time to receive food, and I would have simply remade the food AT NO EXTRA CHARGE and went on with my day. Until a refund actually processes on my end, it stands that I have been double charged in the moment. Had my food actually been decent once I arrived home and opened it, it would have made for a better experience. Like I said, this was my favorite restaurant before this very poor experience in lack of proper customer service and food that was undercooked, stuck together in one clump and simply not done right ALL around.

I did receive a phone call that I unfortunately missed from the manager later in the night to discuss this review. In the voice mail, this manager was only concerned with me clarifying that they did refund the first order on their end before making me pay yet again (minus 20%) and they entirely ignored the fact that my food was UNDERCOOKED AND ONE CLUMP OF RICE NOODLES and not edible. Not only did they completely fail in customer service, the food was not even...

I would have loved my first experience to be amazing, but this was hands down the weirdest encounter at a restaurant I’ve ever had.

I tried to place an online order to go and it wasn’t working, so I tried to call. No one picked up the phone. Since I was only a few blocks away, I just drove over to place a walk-in order. I was informed that the Wi-Fi is down so they couldn’t do walk-in orders that I could dine in and it would be cash only. I asked what would be the difference in that and putting my food in into go containers, then a manager came over and corrected and said I could do it to go order.

When the host came back with my change, she kept the change without asking if I wanted it. Given my experience thus far, I asked for the change as I’m not dining in where it can be rolled into the tip, it wasn’t just like a dime, and it’s rude not to ask. She told me that they did not have enough coin for the night and her manager said just to give me the cash- so they planned to pocket above my total without even asking me, or them assuming the difference for their issues.

As I’m waiting on my food, several people come in and if they did not have a reservation, they were turned away and told it was reservation only. There were only 2 tables marked ā€œreservationā€ and several other empty. One person told the couple they could make the reservation online… how exactly were you planning to see that reservation if your Wi-Fi is down?

The food itself tasted good, but was missing garnish and other things shown on the menu. It looked like standard take out, not something I just paid $30 for.

And above all this, never once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience, or having to charge me more for my food because they didn’t...
