I ate here twice in February, 2022, on consecutive weekends, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food & service were surprisingly good for a buffet, so I decided to make this a semi-regular place to eat even though it is a bit of a drive for me. However after getting food poisoning twice the next month from 2 different Chinese buffets I decided to start checking restaurant inspections much more carefully, and from that standpoint this place is a real horror show: a shocking number of violations, repeat violations, food storage and handling violations, etc. Buffets are already considered high risk, but the level of risk at this place is way too high for me. I will consider myself lucky I didn't get sick after eating here twice and not return until they start showing a lot better compliance with safety regulations. Due to the food tasting good and me not getting sick I'll give 3 stars with the above caveats.
Update to last year's review -- after seeing better inspection reports I decided a couple months ago to give this place another try. However the food was a disappointment, much lower quality than my previous visits. The General's Chicken sauce was runny & pretty much had no flavor at all: no ginger, garlic, sesame oil, vinegar, cooking wine, etc., just a vague sweetness and a surprising lack of spice consider the decent amount of chili peppers in it. The peanut butter chicken was odd: the chicken was good, but the sauce tasted like it was made from a 5 pound institutional can of peanut butter with no sugar or salt in it. The stuffed mushrooms were undercooked, definitely needed more time in the oven and/or a couple minutes under the broiler to get some browning on the tops. The other items I had were mostly forgettable, just so-so like from any cheap Chinese buffet. I might give this place 1 more try, but if the food quality stays the same as on this visit I won't be back.
Update 05/10/24 -- I was in the neighborhood the weekend before last so decided to give this place 1 more try. Fortunately the food was much improved over my previous visit. The peanut butter chicken wasn't much better, and the stuffed mushrooms still needed another couple minutes of cook/broil time. However the food improved enough that as long as the health inspections stay tolerable I'll probably...
Read moreI am very disappointed until my most recent experience with this restaurant I thought it was a great place and vary affordable for them lunch buffet in good items On the menu It had came to a point where I was going there everyday getting something the containers if nothing else this is how much I liked the chicken wings and shrimp and a few other things They were charging me 6.99 a pound and before long they started charging me 8.99 I pound why can't you in here everyday and spent 15 to $20 just wanna to go Box, And I also brought people to spend money and refer them to this restaurant to spend money but today I came in and sat down to eat the buffet with my daughter and my little niece who is 2 I had got there at 3:35 before the lunch menu price went over to the dinner price which is at 4 o'clock I was never told once 4 o'clock game if you are there before 4 or not you still had to pay dinner prices. The servers that were there were watching me and my daughter like a hawk like we were going to steal something even though they see me there all the time and they kept coming to my tanle to see what we had Every few minutes this made me feel uncomfortable because they were not doing it to anyone else When the server brought me my Che charged me for 2 dinner meals I told her that we were there before lunch was over She said I had to pay $6.70 extra because of the things they put out after lunch I think this is very unfair and this should be told to everyone if they want that to be something that is a rule It was very distasteful to me as a customer and I've spent a lot of money with these people and the $6.70 extra date force me to pay It's the last of my money they will ever get because I'm never going back they lost a customer A loyal customer I no longer recommend this restaurant they do not respect an honor customer loyalty...
Read moreI am from out of town and was visiting my daughter and her family. They often go to the Asian Buffet. I wish this restaurant was located where I live. I absolutely enjoyed it. Our party of five (including two children) was seated almost immediately. There is plenty of room in this restaurant, lots of tables. The tables aren't pushed so close together that you feel crowded though. The servers came to the table quickly to take our drink orders and they were delivered quickly. This is a buffet style restaurant. There are numerous stations of so many different kinds of foods. Of course, many of them are Asian cuisine, but there are some "American" foods there as well. All of the cold foods are cold and all of the hot foods are steaming hot. The array of selections is so vast that you are sure to find plenty to satisfy your taste buds. There are simply cooked dishes as well as spicy options. There are clean plates and silverware. They have salads, fruits, entrees, side dishes, a chef to prepare specific dishes, and desserts. The servers came to the table often to replenish drinks or remove used plates. Foods are replenished often on the buffet; there never seemed to be anything that was sitting around too long or that appeared "old". The restaurant was very clean, the food stations were well maintained and very clean. This is definitely a kid-friendly restaurant. But I do want to remind everyone that young children should not be going to the buffet by themselves. We escorted the children in our party to the buffet and they were able to see the foods well enough to be able to tell us what to choose for them. The restaurant is not noisy; there is just the usual background chatter of people enjoying a delicious meal. I will definitely want to come back to...
