CAVA — Restaurant in Katy

8/30/25 Update - I visit this location pretty often since I tried it years ago. However I wanted to give a shout out to AJ during my visit on 8/30/25. He was amazing! Thank you AJ for making my weekend! The rest of the staff was great as well, and of course the food was delicious as always.

I passed this place up several times bc I thought it was going to be the typical overhyped bland food that everyone seems to love. However I can admit when I'm WRONG.

First off the restaurant was a little busy, but the ppl behind the counter were super friendly. Someone kept changing their mind about their toppings and held up the line, but the employees didn't rush her or get annoyed. Surprisingly neither did the patrons. Also the restaurant was pretty clean.

I did the build your own bowl w/ splendid greens/saffron rice, regular chicken, the veggie toppings, and the red pepper hummus. Let me tell you, that hummus is SPICY and DELICIOUS. It has the PERFECT flavor profile for my taste buds and paired perfectly w/ my bowl. I topped it off w/ some of their garlic sauce and the hot harrisa vinaigrette for the win!

My only complaint is the juices were watered down (strawberry lime for sure). I also wished they offered black beans or garbanzo beans but if they don't it won't stop me from returning.

I could eat this bowl a few times a week and not get tired of it...it was that good. I'd give it an 8/10 and yes I did taste it in their parking lot. 😜 I was expecting it to be closer to Salata's pricing, but I spent $13 for the bowl and a large drink so it's a little cheaper. I'm full and for bonus points I ate...

Ive come here plenty of times with no issues in the past, but the last 2 times have been terrible. I never leave bad reviews, but I was already having a bad day and one staff member made it even worse. As soon as I walk in the door, there was no one in line but me and this other person that were waiting to order. I kid you not.. it took at least 15 minutes just to do that. The whole process took well over 30 minutes..

The employees were lethargic and just sending it in. After the first person orders, a tall staff member gave me attitude as soon as I greeted him, and continued throughout the entire ordering process. It was like I was annoying him for him to have to do his job, and they were short and gave me a nasty look the whole time as well. However, I still tried to be as nice as possible. The rice/lentils were inedible and undercooked if cooked at all.. and it was one of the worst bowls I've ever had.

The owner needs to tell some of the employees to check their attitude at the door when they come to work (even when theyre having a bad day) and at least speak when spoken too. This place has really gone down hill, and I'm...

The Monday evening crew is so unbelievably rude. I've been there for three straight Mondays and every time I go they are so passive aggressively rude, it doesn't even make any sense. There was one guy that was fairly nice to me but I haven't seen him the last two Mondays but the 2 people that they keep in the front always act like you're disrupting them from cleaning up your go home. The didn't even bother to give me my pita bread and I had to ask for a receipt only to be aggressively told that the receipt machine isn't working, which I honestly believed to be a lie because she didn't offer it to me. I also asked for romaine and was given super green mix and when I asked to confirm if that was romaine she said "we're out but they're the same thing." Well riddle me this..if they were the same thing why are they separate offerings..?? Idk, I really get annoyed having to deal with this staff because all of the cavas I've been too they're very sweet or at the very least pleasant.
