CW Asian Cafe — Restaurant in Katy

OK here's the deal: great price point $11.99 for sweet and sour chicken dinner with fried rice. Good portion size. One plastic container square shaped full of battered fried chicken but the chicken batter was hard and tasted kind of old like it had been sitting out for a while. The sweet and sour sauce was excellent very flavorful. Got a paper folded square rice Chinese box full of fried rice with it so once again great price point great quantity but quality of chicken old was off. Also ordered vegetable lo mean. Not the best, had like spaghetti type noodles instead of the flat noodles and not very flavorful but wow they packed that plastic rectangle box completely full until it was stuffed full of the noodles, a huge huge portion. I added duck and soy sauce onto it and it was good. Customer service receptionist was super nice and attentive.. We were happy customers for a few years when the kind couple from Hong Kong operated the facility. Apparently, the place is run by people who are "managing" the place. The food was simply bad. Gen Tso was flavorless and the crust was wet without crunch with watery sauce. The triple delight was basically some meat and veggies in water with color (probably water and soy sauce). We called to discuss the issue with the owner and they stated a "manager" will call back. Never happened.

We are not the only customer they have lost recently; I sent them business over the past few years. But our friends and acquaintances have quit going there as well due to the poor quality of food.

I have to confess that for some reason I had avoided Asian food for about 2-3 years and the reasons I guess because of the latest one I went were not as good as expected from the quality and price value. I came across CW Asian as an accident since my daughter was studying science after school with some friends. when I picked her up I decided to order sesame chicken with fried rice to go just to give it a try and let me say that they exceeded my expectations. Flavor, portion size, food presentation, valued price and service was top compared with any restaurants from the area. I will definitely come back and dine in to try other options from their menu. Delivery is also offered within 4 miles radius so for those who live around Target on Westheimer Pkwy will find this very convenient.
