Great pizza and Great quality BUT THE STAFF IS HORRIBLE. The Service is awful. I visited Grimaldis on OCT 28 at 9:30 PM. I have meeting with my staff every Sunday night and that time we picked this location. NEVER AGAIN. My employees (14 people) went in earlier than me an they ordered their food. I got there 20 minutes later and ordered food and asked for an alcohol drink, my waitress checked the ID and everything went well. The manager( Dark skin young gentleman) brought the drink. While I was drinking and discussing business stuff with my team, this young, very rude, unprofessional lady and another lady (waitresses) stood in front of our table and stared at me for good 5 minutes. My team brought it to my attention and I asked her are you okay? she goes: "your Fake, your ID is fake." and I said: "excuse me? fist of all who are you standing by my table talking trash?" she said:" chill, I just wonder how you got your fake ID." What the heck? I am 25 years old and I'm so glad if I look young to other people but Who the F"" are you??? I asked her if she is the manager and she said no and I asked for him. The manager comes in and I ask him to check my ID and he says: "It looks pretty good to me, even if its fake, its a good fake!!!!" really? No apology, no I'm sorry this happened or I will take care of you. Well I come from billion dollars branch with young kids that they are 20 and under that they work for me. They have better customer service than your adult staff does. My business do not serve drink but my staff is trained to know which ID is fake or not. You just lost $300 of Sunday's sales by just not knowing how to talk to people. I wanted to call police and have them take care of them but I let it go. To upper management: there are tutorials of how to spot a fake ID which I trained your manager that night how to do that instead of acting like a headless chicken. I am not looking for an apology or oh we are sorry to hear that feedback. I want people know that this location does not carry the actual meaning brand of Grimaldis and...
Read moreI dropped my daughter off with two friends at the Katy, La Centerra, location. The kids are 16yrs old and very well mannered. Our family owned a restaurant for many years, so my daughter is very aware of what food service should look and feel like. The kids were sat and not greeted for at least 15-20min. My daughter called a hostess over to let them know they have not been helped yet. The hostess apologized and walked into the kitchen, It’s an open kitchen concept kitchen the kids could see inside. The server that was clearly supposed come to their table waves off the hostess after she saw the teens. Another server in a different area would now have to wait on that table. The server comes and takes the order which by no means was a big order because they are three teenagers trying to learn how to navigate being in a restaurant without their parents The order was one medium pizza, and some fountain drinks. Sure, this is not a big money table, but it’s still requires Good service. The pizza they were told, was going to take approximately 23 minutes. It in fact, took way longer than 23 minutes, one of the hostesses had to come over and apologize to them because they had been waiting so long. They ordered the pizza to be half pepperoni and half cheese. The pizza came out all pepperoni.. I know that teenagers get a bad rap at restaurants, But these teens waited, patiently, never complained, yes ma’am, no ma’am, and even tipped 20% because they were taught how to act in a restaurant. I’m extremely disappointed that just because you see three teenagers you decided to treat them like trash. As I said, we have owned restaurants. My daughter was very aware that other customers who had adults at the table were sat after them, received multiple pizzas at the table before their table received their one pizza. Disappointed that a family owned business would not teach servers to treat others with the same respect adults...
Read moreI recently read an oped that summarized "you're not understaffed, you're overbooked." This writer was discussing a hotel stay, but I think that may apply here to some degree. As we were being seated I overheard one guest discussing with their server that they had been waiting over 45 minutes for their meal. My husband decided to get drinks from the bar to fill some time before we were seated and overheard a to-go guest being told there would be a 1-hour wait. We then heard a similar conversation from the table next to ours as we were being seated. To our server's credit, we were given the heads-up right up front that pizzas were taking about 45 minutes. Fortunately, we were just enjoying an evening together on the patio in an unusually cool(ish) evening and decided that we would share a salad, opting to chill and be patient. The staff were pretty calm given the disgruntled cloud that hung over the restaurant in general. No one was being rude, thankfully, but guests were clearly exasperated. It was never clear what the real underlying issue was. There seemed to be plenty of serving and busing staff, although we never received the dressing we requested, water was not refilled more than once, and our server disappeared for long periods. Maybe it was a kitchen staff or equipment issue, but it would have gone a long way to be offered or comped something...anything...while we waited. Not expected, but nice. Or perhaps a better explanation, because it honestly seemed like this was not an unexpected or unusual circumstance for any of the staff. The pizza was underwhelming; not much flavor. So, overall we chalked this up to some time together and an above average glass of wine. We will try somewhere...
