R&B Tea - Katy — Restaurant in Katy

I've tried R&B Tea a few times now—once at the Bellaire location (which wasn’t a great experience) and twice at the Katy location. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s the place for me.

Yesterday, I ordered the Taro Stormy and the Oreo Chocolate Milk Tea with Cheese Foam. The Taro Stormy had a nice taro scent but lacked sweetness, even at 100%—it was incredibly bland and overly icy. The Oreo Chocolate Milk Tea had a strong floral aftertaste that didn’t sit well with me. The boba in both drinks was soggy and lacked chewiness.

I gave it another shot today and ordered 3 drinks for my family: 1 Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and 2 Classic Milk Teas. Again, I was disappointed. The Oolong Milk Tea tasted like watered-down tea—zero sweetness or richness. The Classic Milk Teas were a bit better but still not enjoyable: too floral, not creamy, and again, soggy boba.

I wanted to love this place—it’s all over Instagram and super convenient to where I live—but the drinks just haven’t delivered. I might still come back to try the waffles, but as far as drinks go, I won’t be returning...

I’ll be honest- We love the RBTea Franchise. We live in Katy, so we were ecstatic to hear of the katy location opening. We’ve been to many of their locations from Sugarland, Pearland, Bellaire, Alief, etc. We’ve even been to the locations in Vietnam and Singapore.

We ordered their Avocado Stormy & Jasmine Green Tea with House cream. The avocado stormy was too icy & didn’t have enough avocado in there. The house cream did not have the correct consistency… it was not thick and very runny. It seemed like just straight milk.

We wanted to like this location, but they may have changed the franchises recipes or didn’t execute it correctly.

I first went when they opened up and I wasn't happy that when I asked for 50% ice they didn't fill the cup with the drink. I have gone to the locations in California and the Bellaire location and they always fill the drinks to the top. Based on my bad experience I didn't go back. I decided to go back today after few months to see if they have improved but they didn't. They still don't fill up your drink to the top and this time around the fruit tea wasn't sweet at all eventhough I asked for 100% sugar. I dont think I'll be going back. Also both times I went it was empty so that's a big clue that this place isn't doing as well like the...
