The food here and the staff are amazing! You can not go wrong with anything you order here. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. I have had their fried shrimp, which had an amazing flavor and wasn't greasy.
Their hamburgers are to die for with such a flavorful seasoning, perfectly cooked and not dried out. If you like chicken fried steak, definitely order one or even the steak fingers! They also have amazing chicken tenders that are huge. Save room for dessert if you can. Their chocolate graham cracker crust pie is amazing and very large.
If you like hamburger steak, theirs is really good, just like my grandma would make. Pictured below is their quesadilla, which last week I tried the taco meat stuffed one it was superb. The tortilla was packed full of cheese and taco meat, which had an amazing flavor and zero grease dripped out of it.
Today, we ordered this morning the chicken fajita stuffed one, and holy smokes, it was excellent as well. We started with the cheese sticks for an appetizer, and they were solid cheese all the way through. Again, they were not greasy at all. I have no doubt that if you go there, you will be impressed as well.
The servers they have there are amazingly personable and make you feel as if you are part of their family. Today, when we came in shortly after 10:40am we were greeted by everyone. We had two female servers who I'm sorry I do not recall their names, but both had brunette hair were on top of their game.
One of the servers had braces who took care of us, and both servers were exceptional, and our drinks never went dry, nor did we have to ask for anything. It was as if they were reading our minds and knew exactly what we needed before we had a chance to ask.
Last week, when I came in and tried the taco quesadilla, a gentleman was my waiter, and he was excellent. He stated his family was from South Africa. He also had top-notch customer service skills and made me feel as if I was a member of his family as well.
In fact, all of the waiters or waitresses I have had the pleasure of being served by have been amazing. You will be in great hands no matter which person you interact with when you go.
Texas Traditions definitely is a small business that values their customers and it shows in their execution of their duties from the table bussers, the kitchen staff to the waiters and waitresses that will take care of you there.

I've only been twice - several years ago, and yesterday. Both times the food was just ok. The fries were really bland. My baked potato with brisket was tiny, hardly anything to it, and the meat was dry & old.
The really bad part was the service. We walked in at 4:30 on a Saturday. The place was nearly empty. When I asked the hostess for a table for 8, the woman asked if I had a reservation. I said no, and I asked if they had a big party coming or something. She said no, it's just that it's Valentine's Day weekend. She asked if we would sit on the covered patio where there was live music. I said no, it was a family celebration for my son's 10th birthday, and we wanted to be able to visit. I just thought her behavior was odd, as I saw so many open tables.
Then she proceeded to tell me to wait so she could put something together for me, and she seemed annoyed by it. She was looking all around as if there was some kind of difficulty putting tables together, when in reality there were a lot of empty tables, and I could have easily done it in less than 2 minutes.
Once we finally sat down, things got worse. The waitress seemed like she was in a hurry to get our orders. We got our drinks pretty quickly, but she kept coming, at least 3 times in 10 minutes, asking if we were ready to order. I had told her after ordering appetizers that we weren't in a hurry, we were celebrating my son's birthday, and we would be visiting awhile. We were still clearly looking at our menus, so when she came again, I asked her if she was trying to rush us, did they have a big party coming and needed the tables, or what? Again, it was now 4:45 on a Saturday with the restaurant maybe 25% full. She explained that she just wanted to make sure we weren't having to wait. I asked her for a little more time. Well then she was ridiculous, it was at least 15 minutes later, and she didn't come back. I had to get up and go find her. When she came back, I apologized if I seemed rude earlier. She didn't say anything to it other than, "what can I get you?" After that, we got some different wait staff, and they were much better. I left a good tip in spite of the waitress with a bad attitude.
Overall bad experience. I will never go back unless I hear that things have changed. If you read other reviews, others say how bland the food is and subpar service. I would have given it 1 star, but being a locally owned business, I...
Read moreI truly wanted to love this place but it just wasn’t at all what the reviews make it out to be. I came with my boyfriend and FIL, they both got the chicken fried chicken while I got the avocado burger. It started off good with being seated right away. For an appetizer we got the cheese sticks which came with I believe nine small pieces. They were okay but honestly they looked and tasted exactly like the frozen brand from the store. I was expecting clearly-house-made larger gooey ones for almost $10. Next we ordered the food and I realized their burgers/sandwiches didn’t come with fries. Not very “traditional” and more fast food-y being told they could “make it a combo for an up charge”. So what was supposed to be $11.50 for my meal went up some amount of dollars just for a small helping of fries.
We finally got our food which looked absolutely delicious but turned out to be lackluster in flavor. There was very little to no seasoning on literally anything. We had gone to a burger place last weekend that blew me away with every bite, whereas the avocado burger from here was overly messy and drowning in lettuce. The patty was average at best and tasted like regular unseasoned beef- I’ve legitimately had better tasting burgers from Sonic. As far as the other dishes, both my boyfriend and FIL didn’t seem impressed with what they had. I can’t describe what they tasted but judging from the small bite I had from my boyfriend’s plate, I felt just sad tbh. I hyped this place to them both and it ended up being completely tasteless. To top it off there was a hard piece of the chicken that cut my FIL’s mouth. They did take care of the issue immediately (should’ve been an entirely free dinner imo) but it still left me feeling like a failure because it was solely up to me to pick where we went to eat and it was a massive disappointment. My boyfriend said he enjoyed the jalapeño hush puppies but that was the extent of his enjoyment. Another note is we had a younger male server and he was quite aloof and not very warm/friendly.
I agree with the other negative reviews. I’m not entirely sure how on earth this place has the rating it does, but we’re not gonna be...
