Update: 2023-2024: the price is now $35.99 for AYCE, no more tiers/options.
The new pricing is ok given they have a large menu with lots of options for raw and cooked dishes. My last sever visits here since mid 2023 has been great. Orders are taken and served quickly. No attitude is given when I used a voucher during one of the visits. The change could be partially due to the fact that I do not go here during the weekend or noon/afternoon anymore. The dinner staffs are all very nice and welcoming. Food quality and atmosphere in general are also very nice. Love to have this place back to my list of top restaurants to visit in Houston!
The food here is good but unfortunately the customer service makes it not worth the money spent. I’ve been a customer here over for 2 years, recommending so many coworkers, friends and family here. The “Tazzi” tier price was $35.99, then $45.99, and now it’s $55.99. The price increases could be due to inflation and rising costs. However, the current manager or the lady that seems to manage all activities there is just plain rude and unwelcoming. There are 2 servers but she is the only one that can take orders. And it’s impossible to get her to place more orders. When she is available, she gives such unwelcoming attitude when taking your order, making us not wanting order anything else. We notice she tends to be rude to color-groups and nicer to white-groups. I saw the other group trying to pay with vouchers, which they give you a stamp for everytime you dine there. She ignored that group since the time we stepped in. It was probably 20 minutes and they decided to pay with credit card and left unhappily. The other waitress is more accommodating and super apologetic whenever that lady seems to ignore your table. We feel better with the service thanks to the younger waitress. Tazzi used to be a nice place to get decent AYCE sushi, but with the price hikes and mediocre service, I would probably spend...
Read moreI want to start off by saying that Josh took such great care of my wife and I today. We came in for the AYCE sushi, and I did not regret it for one second. I probably ate $80 worth of sushi alone! To start us off, we got the crab puffs, spicy garlic edamame, dynamite, baked mussels, and spicy Korean ramen. Everything was well seasoned. Our favorite were the crab puffs and the spicy garlic edamame solely for the spicy garlic sauce. This is important since we saved some of that sauce for our other dishes! It was an amazing addition to every single food item we ordered. I proceeded to order the first 6 sashimi on the menu (salmon, fatty salmon, garlic ponzu salmon, tuna, peppered tuna, and garlic ponzu tuna). I did not specify whether I wanted thin, medium, or thick cuts. I believe the default cuts were thick. Every single sashimi tasted super fresh! The garlic ponzu was nothing to brag home about, but it was pretty balanced and not super overpowering. Then, we ordered the Evan roll and SalmonAss roll. The Evan roll doesn't have rice, but the texture was AMAZING! Each bite was felt like a million light crunches! Super refreshing! The SalmonAss roll was a bit heavy since it was deep fried, but the flavors were very well balanced. This is when I decided to put some of that spicy garlic sauce from the spicy garlic edamame, and I discovered a new realm of flavors all together!! We decided to order crab puffs again along with thin cuts of salmon sashimi, scallops, and garlic ponzu albacore. Of course, I had to put some spicy garlic on the crab puffs. PHENOMENAL! Also, thin cuts of salmon was what I was looking for! It was amazing! We ended our meal with green tea mochi, mango mochi, and lava cake. We loved everything that came out. I probably missed out a few dishes, but just know that I was lost in the sauce! We will definitely come here again!! Unfortunately, everything looked so nice and fresh so we didn't take any pictures. Take that as a...
