First of all, I want to give a negative one million rating if I am allowed to.
We had a birthday party for my daughter's 8 years’ on March 31 2018 (Saturday) in Chuck e Cheese located at 2002 Gulfmont Drive, Katy, TX 77494. All kids and some adults got sick after the party. One kid (approximately 10 years old) vomited during the party. After we got home, all our three kids vomited the whole weekend. My wife was feeling pretty sick and myself too. We did not realize this was because of the bad food in Chuck e Cheese but thought it was from our family food. In the following couple of days, we heard from different families that their kids had stomach pain and vomited during the weekend as well. One kid’s parents were called by the school because of vomiting in school. Another kid was taken to her doctor, but they did not do a blood test since they were not aware of this. All these made me believe that it was because of the bad food offered by Chuck e Cheese during the party. We called the families and found out all of them (25 kids) experienced different level of stomachache and vomiting. It was a bit late already because all of them felt better on Tuesday when we were calling. We were struggling to either inform them all to visit their doctors, or since they were all getting over it, maybe we should contact Chuck e Cheese for some compensation, for instance, refund of the fees, such that we could buy each kid a gift. In the end, we decided not to inform the families, but went ahead called Chuck e Cheese. We called the local store first and were asked to call the corporate. We called the corporate many many many many times, and each time we were directly transferred to voice message. They eventually called me back hearing my messages, however the call got disconnected for some reason and the never call back again. The number shows "unknown" so we were not able to call back. Afterwards, we called another many many many many times and finally received an email from Chuck e Cheese. They asked if we went to doctor and what type of diagnose the doctors have provided. We were not able to provide all these medical information of the other kids, and our kids did not really saw the doctor. After they were aware of all these, they started to play. In the end they reject my request of only to refund my party charges, but offered us a free pizza. A FREAKING FREE PIZZA!
We know that we made a huge mistake and did not realize all these early enough and inform all parents to see their doctors and do blood test. Our thought was, based on the online research, it would be very hard to actually get anything from them by people who had similar experience, especially when we did not have any strong evidence, other than the parents' words, from a bad experience for the service point of view, we only asked for a refund. That was plainly rejected! I did not believe it.
Now, I feel as a parent, I should let more parents to be aware of this, which is why I am posting here. Next I will report to local HS department, and will file a complaint to BBB.
And afterwards, I will be holding a sign standing in the front door of Chuck e Cheese some Saturday morning, telling the parents the story and experience. I am sure they will let me go because this is their private property. I will definitely refuse. They will call police and I will leave upon the order of the police officers. My question is that, how bad it could be when the officer(s) arrive. Will they arrest me directly without asking me to leave? I definitely would not offend the police officers, but only want to do what I can within a limit. I will not take your opinion as legal advice, but only an opinion. ...
Read moreI really must post here and hope that supervisors share and act upon this review. I feel that must parent, like me; visit this business to have fun with the kids and enjoy the added security at the door. The stamps one gets at the entrance that must match as you go out, gives me a sense of added security or a second layer of security and it motivates me to choose this place over other arcade locations. It is very frustrating when you see the guys at the door not give this added security the importance it deserves. Two weeks ago as we were leaving, 3 of our children were able to get past the door, they were checked and allowed to go by without question and without matching; this was upsetting and frustrating at the same time because that second layer of security is not at all reliable. Today, I went to a birthday party and again the kids got ahead of me and at the door the guy shinned the light to check the numbers and let all 3 of them through without matching any adult. I stood there a couple of feet away looking at this thinking " why is this individual not giving the layer of security the importance it deserves?" I asked him why he lets the kids out if there is no adult matching the numbers but I rapidly asked to speak with a manager and spoke with her and shared my experience. I feel that as a parent I had to post a review and share the importance of speaking out about a simple check that can avoid a life long and painful event. My kids and I have fun here and hope that those who tend to the door receive the training needed to understand the importance of really checking and verifying the stamps. Checking at the door should not be a simple wave the light and make it look good, it needs to be thorough and a certain...
Read moreWe went on a Saturday afternoon for my little cousin's first birthday. Overall it was a pretty typical packed kids place experience. The employees were very nice although Chuck E. Cheese himself wasn't available much since he comes out on a timer and mingles quickly then retreats back to his closet quickly. Food was good and ofcourse overpriced. They give you 8 itty-bitty boneless wings for 9.99 plus tax. They do serve alcohol which is great! In hindsight I should have had a couple lol. The only thing I would comment on is their enter/exit procedures. My mom went in with my 1 year old daughter and my 4 year old son. They stamp the kids and adults with matching numbers that only show up under black light so that they can know which adult goes with which kid. I came in with my six-year-old son and we were both staying with the same number. My husband came in about 30 minutes later because he took our car to the Discount Tire that is behind Chuck-E-Cheese. He got his own number stamp. On the way out I walked out with my son that I came in with. They cleared us to leave my husband tried to bring my daughter out and their numbers didn't match up she looked at me and said are y'all together? I said yes and she let us go. Neither of our stamps matched my daughter's because my mom brought her in. So that was mistake number one. Then my four year old just walks out past her without getting his number checked at all. She never even saw him. My mom walked out by herself. I don't feel safe in knowing that two kids were allowed to leave without numbers matching the adults that they were supposed to match. So even though they have safety practices in place, please do keep an eye...
