My Wife and I were looking for a new youth bike for our Son, who was about to turn 12. Upon our searching, we found, Action Cycles. My Wife was aware of the shop so we gladly went and visited. When we got there, we were promptly greeted by a team of people that were knowledgeable about bikes, but most important, we were greeted by Keith, who was a great representative of the company and a very knowledgeable person in regards to bikes.
Within minutes of talking with Keith, and learning about his knowledge with the bikes, we were very confident that the decision was already made in purchasing with Action Cycles.
My Son was elated to learn that he would be receiving the bike we were already talking about, and when we moved inside, Keith decided to make sure that the bike was ready for our Son. Keith further established our excitement in our choice in choosing to go with Action Cycles when he explained and demonstrated the highlights of the bike to me and my Son.
The entire process was wonderful and I am so glad to support local business and people who care.
In 2025, it feels good to talk with people who care and want to help. Please consider Action Cycles for a quality purchase and great...
Read moreEdgar and his crew are simply excellent. Edgar knows that I'm the type of guy that likes to do most work on his own bicycles. As I ride a lot of miles, and if I had to get all of my maintenance done at a bike shop it would simply be too expensive. Inevitably, I made a huge mistake, servicing my crank set and thought that I had ruined it. The technicians were quick to remove the part that I had damaged without damaging the rest of the crank set, which I thought maybe impossible. They wanted to only charge me for that part and not even the labor. I was so happy that I forced them to charge me more although they didn't charge me as much as I wanted them to. The best part is they knew that the bike needed further work done and they didn't pressure me to do the work themselves to get the business as they knew that I was kind of in the middle of doing it myself. This is good Old School bicycle shop service, Unlike the corporatized version that seems to be popping up everywhere else now-a-days. My wife is in the market for a new bike and Edgar is guaranteed to get that sale and as soon as she gets less skittish and pulls the trigger on it!...
Read moreI brought my double B.O.B. STROLLER in to get it serviced and they were able to! I literally called every bike shop in my area and none of them were able to service my stroller much less get the parts necessary to fix it up. Not only were they able to fix it, they did it IMMEDIATELY within a 10 min time frame for when I was waiting instead of having to drop it off and come back. I was expecting to pay a lot more than what I paid to have the back tires replaced and the front tire re-filled, so I'd say this spot is very affordable too.
What a cool business! These guys are right around the corner from me in Old Katy, set up in what looks to be an old historic house. Everything from their logo to their branding to the way they set up their shop was very cool. I enjoyed learning about their story on how they got started last April from one of the workers there.
If you're in Katy and are looking for a local, small business to support, look no further. I'd MOST CERTAINLY recommend coming to this place over a lot of the big box bike spots you see out on the freeway.
5 stars for sure. Give these guys a visit if you have bicycle or...
