We stopped in for dinner tonight hoping that it would be a nice end to our Sunday after seeing all of the stellar brunch reviews. Well, either we ordered the only 2 dinner items that werenāt worth ordering, they had an off night, or the hype just isnāt real. We had a very simple order - spinach artichoke dip, filet medallions for my wife and I to split, and a side of French fries for my son. The spinach artichoke dip came out in a literal cup which surprised me for $12, but we were hopeful. Nope, absolutely bland and barely had any cheese at all. More of a cup of spinach with a few tortilla chips for dipping. Okay... maybe this isnāt the thing to order? We ask our server if we can exchange this for the crab tower since we tried one bite each and didnāt care for it. He apologized and took it back, no problem. Luckily my sonās fries came out at this time and they were actually delicious. No complaints from the kids table. Next thing to come out was the āfilet medallions with wild mushroom risotto and blackberry port reductionā. Let me assure you this dish looked nowhere near as appetizing as we thought it sounded too. 4 gray lumps of meat with a dollop of wine sauce each sat atop some dry rice. At this point weāre hungry and donāt want to seem like the trouble table, so we divide it and dive in. Ordered medium rare, was medium, but that wouldnāt have mattered. They literally did not season the steak at all. Not even salt and pepper. The taste, texture, and smell of this dish was abhorrent. Tough, chewy, and dry. How a creamy risotto dish with sauce can accomplish that is actually a little impressive. I couldnāt pull that off unless I was intentionally trying to sabotage the meal. $25 is what they are charging for this abomination. The crab tower comes out now. It looked very good, and actually didnāt taste bad. It was bland overall as well, but was an improvement over the first two. Overall my son had a great time eating his fries, and thankfully he was willing to share because that was the only thing worth even eating outside of the crab tower. The manager seemed nice enough, and the server took good care of us. However, none of that can make up for the food. $55 down the drain and lesson learned. I would not even return to try the much renowned brunch. My only guess is that these other 5 star reviews were intended for the other location. Do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThink this is the first time I'm reviewing a place within mins of going there. It was that good. We generally go to JAX grill next to this place. We knew that Union kitchen was an upscale restaurant. Had ordered the border fried chicken, chocolate mousse cake and the carnitas rolls. To go. The bartender was very pleasant to deal with and quick with service. A border chicken from the healthy menu ended up in the bag (instead of the fried version). Only found out when we got home. On calling back, the manager (Kevin) explained that the one we were looking for was the fried chicken version, apologized and offered to make the same for me to pick up. I did. He went over and above by giving a voucher too. That was very unexpected for what was an honest mistake. Totally exceeded my expectations. Onto the food, the carnitas was so juicy and flavorful that we gobbled it all up in mins. On the first bite, i actually swore in suprise :-) The sauces were something else. So packed with flavor. The chopped cabbage that came with it was so fresh! I've smoked pork butt myself and this tasted so much better! The fried chicken was so good, with bacon bits that were so flavor packed. The cheese sauce went well along with the mashed potatoes and the green beans were of the quality that one would get at a top steakhouse. And lastly the chocolate mousse cake was like something that came from heaven! Every single layer (white, dark, chocolate) was distinctive but eaten together was so decadent! Have not tasted the other border chicken yet, but it looks good. Rarely do we see places that have top notch service and top notch food , that too each item ordered being excellent. Goes without saying that we will be back. So lucky to be staying close to this mind...

Iāve been coming to this restaurant for many years, and itās consistently one of my favorites. Whether Iām ordering one of my go-to dishes or trying something new, the food is always delicious and beautifully presented. The attention to detail in both flavor and plating is consistently impressive.
What really sets this place apart is the combination of excellent customer service and strong community involvement. They regularly give back through charitable efforts and host fun, themed events each month. Weāve attended a few, and Doris always does a phenomenal job with the decor and atmosphereāeach event feels unique and welcoming.
This is a fantastic spot for a casual dinner with friends or family, especially with the green space nearby where kids can safely run around. On some nights, they also have live music, which adds to the already lively and enjoyable environment.
Food highlights: ā The tuna tower is a mustāIāve had it several times and it never disappoints. ā The chicken soup tastes like a comforting pot pie in a bowlārich, hearty, and full of perfectly cooked vegetables and moist chicken. ā The bang bang shrimp is another favoriteācrispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-balanced sauce.
This is more than just a restaurantāitās a place that makes you feel at home, while still offering the kind of quality and experience that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food in a warm,...
