My husband and I went here for the first time yesterday. We were truly amazed by how great the restaurant looked inside. We were seated in a timely manner. The server brought us chips and salsa and our beverages. She also refilled our beverages without us having to ask. My husband ordered the milanesa de res and I ordered a beef fajita torta. I truly don't think it took very long for our food to arrive. Our initial thought was that it looked good. The server told us that she forgot the tortillas (corn) and would bring them right out. We waited several minutes and finally asked another server to please bring the tortillas out. We then waited more minutes. I would say we waited for at least fifteen minutes for tortillas. Normally it would not be an issue, however, my husband only eats his milanesas with tortillas as he makes tacos out of them. We each only had a bite of our food while we waited for the tortillas. I must add that the bite of the torta that I consumed was tasteful. My husband also said that the bite of milanesa he had was also good. I did not proceed to eat my torta as we like to eat together rather than one person watch the other eat, and, again, we were waiting for the tortillas.
At that time, there were only about 5 tables present, none more than 4 people at each. My husband and I kept looking around, but were not helped. We noticed servers attending other tables while we waited. I touched my husband's food and it was already cold. Due to the long wait for simple tortillas and the food becoming cold, we decided to leave. As we were walking away from the table, a woman brought the tortillas. She asked if we were leaving, to which I responded that we were due to the tortillas taking so long to arrive. She asked if there was anything wrong with the food and I informed her that it was now cold due to the wait for the tortillas. I offered to pay for the two fountain drinks, but informed her that we would not pay for the food due to the wait and it now being cold. She seemed rather annoyed and thanked us. That was all.
I am rating this single experience a 3. However, due to the initial service and the taste of the single bites that we took, we do plan on returning and are hoping for better service. I don't know if the corn tortillas are made by hand or what exactly was taking them so long. Any communication letting us know about the delay would have been appreciated, but we were told both times that they would bring the...
Read moreWell....it wasnt the best but it wasnt bad either....i had the stuffed avacado....it wasnt stuffed...it was sliced cold avacado covered in cheese sause and cubes of steak and chicken...the flavor was there, however it was defienietly NOT a stuffed avacado. The rice was meh & the beans were thin runny & looked and tasted like they had been poured out of a can and watered down. They didnt taste terrible but were sub par for what I expectes looking at menu prices...seriously Taco Bueno has better beans and rice. I should of ordered charro beans... My Spouse got the 3 carnita tacos. They had plenty of meat on them and smelled wonderful! His plate came with the same rice and beans. I ordered an original handmade margarita with Jose' (gold) and had to send it back 2 times. I wpuld of sent it back the 3rd time but by then it was clear no one knew how to make a margarita without a premixed base! They also opt to squeeze your fruit for you rather than have it as a garnish. They use orange slices and it overpowers the margarita. On the 3rd one i finally was able to get my fruit as garnishments (I have also been a bartender for 10years and I am super picky about drinks...thats why i usually make my own and RARELY order from a bar) my phone died so no photos. Oh ans the hommade tortillas were good too. Our server, Adrian, was wonderful. If I am in Kaufman again, I propably wont go back as there are so many mecican resturants to choose from here! But if I lived close I would go again and try their fajitas (which is what i should of ordered, but i do love stuffed avacado...it just wasnt what I expected after having one several times before at other establihments!) ...
Read moreI can’t begin to fathom how disappointed I was walking into this restaurant, I had heard horrible things about it. But still wanted to give it a shot, and was not surprised. Let’s start off from the beginning, I walked in and was greeted by an extremely rude hostess, who didn’t sit me and later on came back to say she was sorry and had forgotten I was waiting on a table (it was just me). When I finally got my table, I waited 22 minutes and some change for my waitress to even come to my table, when she did. She was very rude, spoke in a way almost as if we had a long history of differences (I’m not from Texas) not only that but I waited entirely too long for my drink to come out which was only a coke. When I got it she simply set it down an proceeded to walk away. Only to come back another 13 minutes later to very rudely take my order, which did not even come out right. Already disappointed with my experience I decided to not say anything. Apon my request for a to go box, to leave this establishment I waited another 7 minutes, and then asked for my receipt. When I finally checked out an was leaving, I couldn’t help but notice the way I was being looked at by the hostess, walking out those doors was like taking a breath of fresh air. The parking situation was horrible, parking lot littered with garbage, the food wasn’t even half way decent, the service was down right awful. I will probably never come back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever. Horrid experience, the only good thing to say about this place seems to be the doors simply because that is how...
