My wife has been coming to this place since she was a kid and the tradition was to always come in and get donuts for every A a child received. We stopped in last term and the girl at the counter said they still do it but they were all out of donuts. We were there in the early evening so that's understandable.
Today we stopped in with my 1st and 3rd grader with their grades and was told they no longer do that. So then we decide to just get an assorted dozen but a bunch of their donuts don't qualify for that price. Donuts that every other donut place allows as part of their dozen (maple bars, chocolate bars, filled donuts). And if you feel that those donuts should be priced higher, then you should also probably make your plain glazed donuts cheaper. It's funny how they don't mind overcharging for simple glazed donuts but they can't possibly allow you to get a maple bar for .99 cents. Most places understand that many people will pay full price for a dozen glazed and that will equal out with the cut in profits they'll take by customers buying filled donuts or maple bars.
Once we figured out what qualified in their assorted dozen and spent the time selecting the 12, the lady then decided to tell us their internet was down and they could only take cash. You'd think you'd tell customers before they order. I looked around for a sign and couldn't see one. The lady sure didn't care or apologize or anything. I think our presence was bothering her the whole time we were there. It's unfortunate that so many of these small town businesses don't appreciate or care about customers who are trying to support them in this pandemic. We ended up at Smith's which I am pretty sure needed our business far less than Tasty's but Smith's for being a big box store was far more helpful and friendly. Weird...

After 10 minutes waiting with no one acknowledging that I'm there, I called, a girl named Lisa answered. I said I've been standing at the cash register for nearly 10 minutes. Her reply was I'm getting sandwiches ready for other customers, I'm the only one here. I said that's great and all, but you need to acknowledge that you saw me, otherwise I'm assuming you don't know I'm there waiting to be helped she rolled her eyes at me and argued that she knew I was there and was going to get to me. The fact that she argued and rolled her eyes at me and came out with her dirty gloves on and touched the pen and paper pad with them made me not want to eat there due to her attitude and cleanliness. How would I know if she took those gloves off and changed them before going back to making sandwiches? She was rude when I asked her for the managers name, she wrote it down...Elizabeth, I hope you read this and the owners do. I lived in kaysville for years and always supported Tastys, but if this would of been my first time there....I would never ever go back because of one employee. Elizabeth, maybe you could do some training on acknowledging the walk in customer and at least say I'll be right with you. Instead, I got to wait for 10 minutes and then walk out after being treated disrespectful. We took our business and...

For the past few years, I have noticed this the very few times I go in and get my doughnut and sandwich.. i USED to love the veggie sandwich but now for the quality ā¦. I believe it is over priced. Tbh I only got like two bites and it was not great. I received fries today with the 2 fry sauce cups. One of them was covered in another sauce. I didnāt know what it was and so I asked for a replacement and the owner just kind of sat on her chair looking at me for a minute. It was unsanitary. A mystery sauce⦠no thank you. Either way, not a big deal. It was more the response I received. She couldnāt be bothered. š«£ The replacement fry sauce. Also had some of this mystery sauce on it. I just wiped it off and kept it moving.. š¤·š¼āāļø At least it wasnāt doused like the previous one.
This is kind of a common demeanor I get every time I go in. Not just one interaction, but all (if not most) have been like this.
I that there may be more customers if the environment was a little more friendly. And the quality of food was at least what it has been in the past.
Anyways, I miss the old Tastyās that was up in South Ogden.
Long gone, but never...
