Completely overpriced for the service and quality of food! Service: We came last night, when we walked in it was moderately busy. After we were seated, it became pretty obvious that our waitress was not interested in serving us, but rather more interested in talking with another waiter behind the bar. Our food was not served at the same time, a pizza and calzone came out first, and everything else came out about seven or so minutes later. After we received our food we only saw our waitress twice, each time being very brief. The first time, she asked if “it’s okay?” and took the 4 year old’s word that it was “good” and promptly proceeded to walk away. The second was near the end of our meal to refill waters. In between, we had to go up to the bar she was standing behind to ask for refills. After we had received our food, we had only been eating 10 or so minutes before being bombarded with to go boxes and the bill- we felt very rushed. Overall, service was relatively poor. Although our waitress was not rude, she was very inattentive and did the bare minimum. Food: The pizza- while it wasn’t horrible, it’s quality was comparable to that of Little Caesar’s, which is half of the price. The calzone- while it originally looked to be a decent size, it was mostly full of air. The filling consisted of salty minuscule sausage bits and it lacked ricotta, which was advertised to have come in the calzone. The sauce that accompanied the calzone on the plate tasted as though it were a week old. The spaghetti- I would expect that an Italian restaurant would at least know how to make something as simple as spaghetti, but I could have made something much better at a lower cost at home. The noodles themselves were that of mush and they swam in grease (I don’t understand how or why a basic tomato sauce could be so greasy). The sauce itself, once you put the grease aside, tasted of canned crushed tomato with an extraordinarily absurd amount of salt. The frutti di mare- the noodles were equivalent to the spaghetti noodles, mushy. The sauce had an okay flavor. The seafood that was included was not enough to have made the entree almost $19. It was a seafood dish that actually lacked in its main component, seafood. It was not fresh, the mussels were clearly frozen as they were extremely gelatinous. The rigatoni ala vodka- this dish was the only decent one out of the 6 ordered. Sauce was okay, its taste was comparable to that of canned Alfredo sauce and it was a little runny. The noodles were appropriately cooked. The scallops were extremely small, especially for the prices they charge here. If full size scallops won’t be served, then they should be advertised as “bay scallops”. The mushroom slices could have been a little more even, as the larger slices didn’t seem to be as soft as the smaller slices. There was nothing too special about this dish and it was not very flavorful. Without any warning, they charge an additional fee if you use a credit card. In conclusion, the restaurant had very bland, unappetizing, and overpriced food with sub-par service. A very unpleasant 45 minute experience that...
Read moreI would like to comment on the two 1-star ratings I just read. I have been eating at this restaurant for 8 years and do not for a second believe a word of what I read. Rushed?? Are you kidding me? These people would let you spend the night here, if you wanted. You will NEVER get your food in 5 minutes. We have been there as early as 4pm and still waited about 12-14 minutes for our food. Waste of time and money? This food is hand made every day, and is the best value ANYWHERE! Not a date spot? Truck stop diner?? Dude, you were not at Nikis! It is a very quant restaurant and just fine for a date. Overcooked / Chef Boyardee? You’re out of your mind! Undercooked bread? The bread is not cooked at the restaurant, but delivered fresh everyday by a local bakery. The owners of this place NEVER take a day off, EVER! You both sound like the type of person, always looking for something to complain about. Let me make this clear; I do not work here, nor have any stake in this restaurant. We have become very close to the owners, and even their family, because they are wonderful people, and serve fantastic food. Any restaurant can have a bad day, the worse thing that ever happened to me here, was the cook forgot to put all the chicken on my Caesar Salad. I would like to point out another thing. In North Richland Hills, there are two Niki’s, one on Davis Blvd, The other on Rufe Snow and North Tarrant. Two completely different family members own them. I highly recommend the one on Rufe Snow, as this is the one we have been going to...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked into Niki’s Italian Bistro in Keller, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance set the perfect tone for a classic Italian dining experience. But the real star of the show was the meal I ordered - the Chicken Parmigiana with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo.
The Chicken Parmigiana was a culinary masterpiece. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with a golden, crispy exterior and a tender, juicy interior. It was topped with a rich, flavorful tomato sauce and a generous sprinkle of melted mozzarella, creating a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
Accompanying the chicken was a bed of Fettuccine Alfredo that deserves its own round of applause. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the Alfredo sauce was creamy and decadent, yet not overpowering. Each forkful was a delightful mix of creamy pasta and succulent chicken, making every bite as enjoyable as the first.
What made the meal even more enjoyable was the attentive and friendly service. The staff at Niki’s are clearly passionate about their food and their customers, making sure that every aspect of the dining experience is perfect.
In summary, Niki’s Italian Bistro is a gem in Keller, offering not just a meal, but an experience to remember. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Niki’s for a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. You won’t be...
