I had wished for place that made good quality Asian fusion dishes for many years in Kendall, and I am so happy that finally we have such a place here in Kendall!! There is a great variety of dishes and flavors, and I am always eager to return and try more. I especially love the Korea Sesame noodles (I had it with vegetables but you can choose a protein like beef, chicken, tofu or shrimp) and it comes with a fried egg. I also like their flavorful special fried rice which came in a generous portion. I had also the tteokbokki which is a Korean dish with little chewy rice cakes complemented with a tasty, red chili pepper sauce, (a bit spicy but not excessively spicy - just right for me), as well as onions and a bit of cabbage, (I think it was kimchi). I ordered mine with beef, but it can be veggie, chicken, tofu or shrimp. I also tried the Japanese Tonkotsu soup with ramen noodles and shrimp. The soup is packed separately and it's best to pour it over the bowl of ramen and everything else before you start eating so that the savory soup really blends well. I loved it all, a rich variety of flavors and different kinds of Asian dishes that I often crave. Also the prices are reasonable and affordable. I haven't yet dined in at the restaurant, only had takeout, but it is a comfortable, clean atmosphere, and definitely the top-choice in the corner strip mall where it is located. I don't usually get too enthusiastic about any restaurant or cafe place here in Kendall, but this place is different, and I love that I don't have to drive miles and miles away to get there. So of course, I will return again and again and definitely recommend that...
Read moreNice little place where chef chen used to be.
I'm not going to lie... I miss chef chen, but Tony chef has some good options.
The shrimp siu mai are tender and have that characteristic light flavor and pillow like consistency. Also, after trying the chicken steam dumplings, I was a bit disappointed... they are very bland, they lack flavor. Those I would skip.
The Tonkatsu Ramen was okay... very decent for the price. The noodles were cooked nicely and still had a good consistency on them. The broth itself was flavourful and nicely seasoned. I omitted the corn, which is one of its toppings .... not a big fan of it in Ramen.
Overall, it was a good experience. Probably not a place I would visit often, but it is good to know that it is close by.
I guess Tony Chef is a good place for when coming with friends... since there are lots of Asian cuisine options...
Read moreBest Asian food in Florida!! I moved to Florida 12 years ago and honestly 95% of Chinese food here is the same garbage recycled American Chinese menu. Being from Toronto with a huge Asian population, I got spoiled with all kinds of really good Asian cuisine and in over 40yrs I've never had bad Asian food until I moved to Florida.
I wish this place was closer to Palm Beach, I am only visiting down south but happy I found this gem. If I am ever in the area I'll go out of my way to come back.
The Hong Kong fried rice and Hong Kong Fried Chicken was really good, reminded me of a few places back home. My wife had the Thai Red Curry Ramen, which was also really good. We both said it after a few bites "Best Asian food...
