This place is an absolute gem!! I'm half Peruvian/half Dominican, and this place checked every box for me.

This charming, quaint, and frankly beautiful little restaurant is serving up what I believe to be some of the best Peruvian breakfasts you can have served on this side of town.

My first interaction with this location was when I was in need of some breakfast and I used Uber Eats to get a classic Peruvian Tripleta Sandwich, and in-house made Chicha Morada, and a Peruvian Tamal filled with pork on the inside (they also have a chicken variant available). I was blown away by how authentic everything tasted. The tamal came with just the right amount of pickled onions for it on the side, and the flavors I grew up with were all there. The Tripleta was lovely! Everything was fresh, light, and just right!

I was really in need of some comfort food! I came on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't so busy in the venue. I was seated, given a menu, and asked what I would like to drink all very promptly.

I ordered the "Peruvian Club Sandwich" (which comes with fries) and the "Nona Chicken Soup."

The food came out within less than 20 minutes and didn't miss a single note of flavor. The soup was brought out first (as requested by me) and was the hearty warm hug that my soul needed. Very light, yet rich and flavorful. It came with a hearty, juicy lime wedge to squeeze into it.

I was also asked by the server if I would like a little hot sauce for it. I opted to say yes, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't overbearingly spicy nor did it aggressively change the flavor of the dish all too much, either.

It's hard to describe, but it's mild in flavor and just right on spice level. It's not meant to alter the flavor of your food all too much. Just add that extra little kick you're looking for. Very thoughtful blend!

But do not underestimate it! Add enough of it, and you'll find that HEAT if you're into that, too.

I decided to squeeze the whole lime and added about 2 little teaspoons of the hot sauce, and all it did was enhance an already great thing. My only nitpick with it was just that the chicken and potato in the soup was way chunkier than I was expecting it to be, but I didn't have a problem using my spoon to break them apart. Nothing felt dry or overly mushy either, so the cook was perfect on every ingredient used in the soup. 4.8/5!! My only nitpick was just the chunkiness of certain ingredients (sparing a thought for older patrons), but the doneness of said ingredients and flavors were perfect. Highly recommend the hot sauce enhancement.

The Peruvian Club Sandwich was effectively a classic Tripleta Sandwich but on steroids. What an absolute beast of a sandwich! Very filling, but again, every ingredient was very fresh and well cooked. Loved contrast of those cold ingredients against those cooked fixings. The egg on top was left a little yolky and everything. What a delight! 5/5 from me.

I asked the server what kind of oil the fries were cooked in, and she confirmed with the kitchen that it's vegetable oil. Now I know I can share my fries with my wife when I come home, I have to ve mindful as she has 7 different food allergens. I was grateful for them for keeping a couple of food options for those with some food allergens, fold intolerances, or dietary restrictions like such as "no pork."

I personally liked the fries, I thought that they were well seasoned and had a formidable amount of crispiness on them. You can also ask for extra sauces on the side for them.

Service was prompt and very friendly! I got to talk to one of the owners and I wish them a lot of success in this endeavor. I know serving food isn't as easy as it sounds and I appreciate the authenticity of the flavors and the work being put in to keep it consistent. After having them at least twice now and in very different contexts, I can whole-heartedly recommend ordering a beautiful traditional Peruvian style breakfast item from them!!

I'm VERY excited to come back with friends and check them out for their savory lunch...

I was craving a Pan con Chicharrón, and after reading the 5-star reviews about Two Spoons, I decided to give them a try—though with some hesitation. The photos I had seen didn’t make the bread look fresh, and the chicharrón didn’t look like what we Peruvians know as chicharrón. It looked more like pork skin or crackling, the way Cubans or Colombians call chicharrón.

When we arrived, I ordered a Pan con Chicharrón and specifically asked the waitress: Please bring me fresh bread.

When the “Desayuno Lurín” arrived, the bread was not fresh as I had requested. The waitress asked if everything was okay, and I told her: I asked for fresh bread, but you brought me bread fried in butter or oil. I put together the sandwich, but I was honestly disappointed with what they called chicharrón—it was just pork skin.

The tamal had no consistency; it fell apart. It did have flavor, but it felt very distant, not the authentic taste. I think the only good part was the sweet potato.

When serving Peruvian food, one must be very careful, because many people live off that tradition. If what you serve is not truly Pan con Chicharrón, then anyone who isn’t Peruvian will try it and think it’s nothing special—and that’s only because they haven’t tasted the real thing.

At the very least, if they had made it with masa de puerco (as Cubans call it), it would...

Hubs and I went solo for the @twospoonsperuviankitchen experience. This is a new, quaint bistro in Kendall, with flavourful Peruvian dishes, which felt like a carnival🥳 of flavor in my mouth! 💘 We've ventured many Peruvian eateries, and this one brought a fresh take on classic dishes, which did not disappoint 👏 Besides great food and wonderful service, I loved the modernesque, English Garden feel. The vibe is clean and new, and every corner had delightful, well-thought out details, which only a woman could think of😉 The CAUSA LIMEÑA DE POLLO was creamy and delicious. It had golden potatoes, chicken and yellow pepper sauce. It's an instant favorite! The BROCHETAS DE POLLO ANTICUCHERO were juicy chicken skewers, which are usually dry, but these were right on target. We also had the PORK BELLY CHICHARRON SANDWHICH, which felt like a dozen sparkles of flavor, lots of red onions and the home made bread was perfectly toasted 🥰 You can never go wrong with the tangy sweet passion fruit mousse for dessert, to finish off the perfect meal 😋 We'll...
