A memory died for me the other night. I stopped at Amato’s in Kennebunk and got the worst “Italian” sub I (or anyone else) has ever had. Terrible bread, one slice of ham, a few sparse vegetables, “all” wrapped so tight in the to go wrap that when I unwrapped it, it was skinnier than an ear of corn. I was so bummed because I had been telling my wife about “the place” to get an Italian for years and we were finally able to stop by. Sadly I’ll never stop at another Amato’s.

Read morelove kbk amato's! staff are always friendly, they get it right, the place is always clean. organized souls (not me) can order ahead, and yup they know you. sometimes they even remember your usual.
i love the italians! sure wish they'd use the real greek BOs or kalamatas on them, but that's just me-- and for sure a first world kind of problem. hands-down the best italian sandwich anywhere--always made fresh!! i get extra ham to share with bullie.
the salads are awesome too and make a great grab-n-go meal on nights like this when you're running on fumes and just can't face that sandwich line. (or if bread's on your no-fly.) ciao bella, they're hearty...
Read moreWent in today and there are a pack of 8 to 10 people in front of the register. Some of these people are trying to pick up online orders and some are trying to order. There should be a separate line for people just picking up orders they already paid for.
I'm standing right by the register just being ignored while people cut in front of me to order and not one employee was like " hey you picking up" then I'm getting chastised by one lady saying "hey we can't read your mind". Well lady I'm not standing here for my health how about you guys have a sign that says "stand here for online pick" up so people don't have to wait for a order...
