Bev’s Cafe and Market — Restaurant in Kennebunk

Had lunch at Bev’s Market in Kennebunk with my son and ordered a grilled cheese with ham from the overhead board. When it arrived, it had Dijon mustard on it—which wasn’t listed anywhere on the board. My son really dislikes mustard, so we asked about it. Two employees seemed a bit annoyed when I asked if it was supposed to have mustard, and explained that the ingredients are listed on the paper menus (which we hadn’t been shown or told about).

To their credit, they did remake the sandwich without mustard, which we appreciated. Still, a little more clarity upfront and a friendlier attitude would’ve made the experience smoother. The space is nice, and I can see the potential—just hoping they fine-tune the...

Sunday brunch specials were all delicious, hot and very filling. The blueberry waffle was light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness from the maple syrup. The scrambled eggs with gruyere and leeks were soft and gooey. The side salad was vibrant and the perfect accompaniment to cut through the richness of the eggs. Both the London fog and the pumpkin spiced latte were served hot and lightly sweetened. The peanut butter cookie and pumpkin scone were so tasty we went back for a box of pastries to go. So so yummy. The environment was cozy with cute tables and fresh flowers, so you felt like you were dining in a homey cottage. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Bev’s is an incredible addition to the upper village in Kennebunk!! Offering extremely delicious coffee, baked goods, breakfast, and lunch - I’ve yet to be disappointed. To the folks mentioning the “high” prices, I find it to be mostly comparable with the other local coffee shops and bakeries, but in my opinion everything here is far superior. It’s obvious the owners have a keen focus on sourcing quality ingredients and aren’t willing to lower their own standards in order to compete on cost…so I’m personally willing to pay a bit more for that.
