The Tavern at The Kennebunk Inn — Restaurant in Kennebunk

My Go-To restaurant in downtown Kennebunk. We lived in Kennebunk for 15 years. When we moved away in 2014, Academe's food was one of the things I missed most. As a lobster lover, I like to start with the Lobster White Pizza, followed by the Lobster Lo Mein. (Hope I spelled that right!) Then, we'll cap things off with Academe's Lobster Pot Pie. If it seems like a lot of food, it's because my husband and I share.

We had a wonderful dinner on Friday night! Same day reservation for six people, and we were given a table in a pretty private room. The new manager is doing an incredible job, everything from the food and drinks to the service was perfect. The quality of the food was amazing, and you can tell how much care the manager is putting into everything (as he is also a chef, and helps bartend and serve!)

We ate dinner at Academe on a recent Friday nite during a weekend escape and it was fantastic. Great ambiance. The room was wonderful. The staff was better. And the food. My filet was perfectly cooked and as good a meal as I've had in a while. I definitely felt some FOMO as it seemed like every other person in the room ordered the lobster pot pie.
