On October 4th, 2023, I visited this Cava location. I was with 3 other friends and because we just wanted a snack, we opted for a kids bowl. I was the last to order, this is important because I essentially just replicated what I observed was appropriate. Again, this was my first time ordering from Cava. I stated placing my order with one crew member. I was politely informing him to not place my pita bread under the veggies but on the side as I did not want it to get soaked on my drive back home. As we were speaking, another gentleman with longer hair came and said “ I got this”. You can see on the receipt that he listed that this was a dine in order even though it was a takeout order. This is because he wasn’t present at the beginning of the order and didn’t even ask me. His demeanor and action made it clear that he thought I was a difficult customer. All three of my friends were allowed to order with the same gentleman without any problems. The crew member that interjected was checking customers out for the 15 minute we had waited for our turn( we went during lunch time, the store was a bit busy). So it is clear he interjected because he misrepresented my actions and profiled me. When it got to the selection of protein, I asked for spicy chicken and lamb. I did this because my friend got a protein split too (2 proteins). I thought all was well till I got to the checkout and saw $9.28. I was confused but in order to keep the line moving, I paid in hopes of clarifying with my friends and bringing it to their attention if need be. I found out that none of my friends paid any amount closer to what I made. So I evaluated my receipt and realized I was charged over $2 for the lamb. The up charge for lamb seemed reasonable until I remembered earlier on that he placed a single lamb on my plate. In the picture, the lamb is on the lettuce and it is clearly different from the chicken. The food is spread because I had to dig to pull out the lamb. I thought I was wrong till I sat down, opened the place and realized this was true. After waiting another 10 minutes for the line to die down, I approached the crew to ask questions. I spoke to the initial crew member and as soon as the same team member that interjected earlier saw that, he came again to take over the conversation. He told me he simply forgot to mention the up charge and insultingly told me he could give me more lamb on the side since he already charged me. I did not receive an apology or offered more amicable options. This was such a distasteful experience. My friends and I have been on a tour for a few weeks around Kennesaw to try restaurants and this is the worst experience yet. Read moreI finally had Cava for the first time this weekend. The food was delicious! I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to try it. Unfortunately, the service made me want to never come back here again. With this being my first time, I knew nothing about the offerings, sauces, dressings, meats, etc. The first girl that puts the rice in the bowl was nice. She asked what meat I wanted, but there was a line & I wasn’t close enough to the meats to see what was offered or what I wanted. I let her know I wasn’t sure since it was my first time & she said ok & put my bowl down to work on the next person. Once I got close enough to the meat, she asked if I knew what I wanted & added what I selected. The next girl wasn’t as patient. She asked what sauce I wanted & I took a second to read the glass to see what was offered & the flavor profile of each & I could see her getting agitated. They were busy & there was a line, but it also did not take me long to read through the sauces & I wasn’t appreciative of how she seemed to be annoyed with me. The same thing happened when we got to the dressings & I was starting to feel so anxious from her clearly annoyed body language that I just had her put some random dressing on the side so I could hurry up. Then, the cashier is apparently also the person who makes the shakes. I asked for a tahini shake & he took a deep breath before he rung it in. I’m sure it was because they already had a line & now he would have to step away from being a cashier to make the shake, but that is out of my control & not something I’d expect someone to be huffing & puffing at me about. Overall, the food is good, but this is not the location for a first-time Cava eater. I just felt rushed for no reason. It was nowhere near closing. I wish the employees were a little more understanding that sometimes the customers they see are not Cava vets and may just need a couple extra seconds to decide what they want on...
