McCormick's Family Diner — Restaurant in Kennett

Big Herb strolled up in here this evening with the wife. Hoping for a better experience than previous encounters. Ole Herb was disappointed. The very first time here was three years ago. Ordered the ribeye and fries. The steak was over done, flavorless and barely warm. The fries were just the same. No love from the kitchen. Swore to never return. Second time was a year later while traveling with coworkers. Went ahead and tried again. Ordered reuben, fries and fried mushrooms. The food was decent. Sandwich was small. Tonight was the end of the road for my cash into this place. Went in straight to restroom. It was funky smelling like mold and stall looked to be barely hanging on wall. Sat down and noticed the tables and floors covered in trash. Salad bar looked sad. Ordered chicken tenders and fried okra. The okra was oily and cool. It had no warmth at all! The tenders were small and looked like the chicken was starving. They tasted like funky oil and fish. The wife ate one tender. It would be one star but our waitress was good. I don't know who's in that kitchen but the lack of training is...

We travel a lot and always like to try new places to eat. This wasn't our 1st pick for breakfast but the other place was a long wait. I had 2 eegs, ham and biscuits & gravy. My wife had the "Little Lady Skillet. This is on 10/26/2024. The gravy tasted like rotten bacon. Biscuit was good. Now my wife's place was nothing but rotten tasting bacon cooked on old nasty grease with a hand full of under cooked hash browns. When ask how every thing was as we went to pay( since we didn't eat the food ) and told them that it was nasty and wouldn't be back and the lady just kept her head down and softly said sorry. No offer to discount the nasty meal that was still on the table. From all the reviews over the years on this place do not count on it being good. Warm canned dog food probably would have...

We went yesterday afternoon The food was dry and cold. The onion rings were bland and they almost tasted like they had just been sitting in cold grease. It took them forever to get us out refills and my grandpa waited over an hour for his catfish plate and when he told the manager he expected it to be free since he had to wait over an hour for catfish the manager tried arguing with him and saying he would have to pay for it if he didn't and finally after about 5-10 mins of back and forth between them the manager finally agreed to let him have it free. Very poor food, service was decent that's it. Won't ever waste my money on that...
