Service: Garbage... There were two employees working when my wife and I entered the establishment. A young woman was already helping another customer as we browsed the menu (as it was our first time, ever, eating here).
After the customer in front of us completed their order, the woman behind the counter proceeded to stare at us... It felt incredibly awkward. We had no clue what we wanted to order yet, and we stood at least 6-8 feet away from the counter, indicating we were not yet ready to order. Still, she continued to stare, making the 2-3 minutes we took to decide feel like a decade.
Once we were ready, we placed our order and received a total price. ($19.01 to be exact) - She asked if we had a penny, which my wife did have. As the penny was handed over by my wife, I dropped a dollar into the tip jar and awaited my dollar in change. When it was handed to me, she gave a look as though she EXPECTED it to be dropped into the tip jar, and smirked when I did, as though she'd won some sort of awkward staring contest.
Food Quality: The subs we got were DOUSED in pepper... I, personally, love pepper, and wasn't bothered by it. My wife on the other hand cannot handle that much spice. She took a small bite and immediately spit out what was mostly a black glob... We immediately wrapped the sub back up and returned to request that it be remade without the pepper. The lady (referred to above) accepted the request and walked to the 'back' to talk to her co-worker and presented him with the sub. She then sarcastically dropped it into the trash can and proceeded to walk out of view while her co-worker kindly remade our subs and reassured us it was no big deal.
My sub (the cuban) was 'OK' by my sub standards (I lived in FL for 11 years and frequented Firehouse Subs, which I would consider a 5 star sub establishment, regardless of which location I'd go to).
My wife had gotten the turkey sub, which tasted closer to tuna than anything (my guess was because of the mix of mayo and cheap turkey meat). She wasn't displeased overall with the taste, but agreed that it was simply 'OK'
Bottom Line: This is not a place I'll be eating at again, nor will I recommend it. The subs aren't anything to rant about, and half of the staff were...
Read moreI had the worst experience at Bruchis on Gage Blvd. I called to let them know that my takeout Turkey Bacon Club had NO Turkey and one piece of bacon cut into thirds. More concerning is not the missing meat on my sandwich, but the absolute demeaning treatment I received when I called to let them know what happened. The young lady said I needed to bring my sandwich back into her for credit and prove that I had no meat on my sandwich. I informed her that I live 30 minutes out and would just take a credit. I offered to send her pictures instead in an email or whatever she needed. I asked to speak to her Manager and she stated "No, it's our policy end of story and I don't need a manager." I asked for her name and her manager's name so I can file a complaint and she stated, "I'm not going to tell you that, I don't have to give you that information mam." Then proceeded to hang up on me. I did text the images and a synopsis of my experience to the Regional Manager and Local Manager after finding the info online. No one ever acknowledged the poor customer service and the quality of the $10 bread I received. Bottom line... I will not be supporting this business and will be telling all my friends and family NOT to support this business as well. Even the upper management apparently has no regard for...
Read moreI just wanted to take a moment to thank the staff for providing me, my husband, and 14yo son with the gift that keeps on giving. When we ordered our meal, when didn't realize we were paying for the privilege of experiencing that meal multiple times via SEVERE FOOD POISONING! We've been violently sick for 7 hours now. We can't eat or even keep water down. If quality time in the bathroom doing the most intense abb workout of your life is your jam, then I'd highly recommend eating here. If you prefer to do your workouts in the gym or living room, maybe consider eating elsewhere.
Update: my 14 yo can finally keep food down (he was only sick for 8 HOURS!) my husband is still on the struggle bus as the saying goes, but he can also keep down food and water. I, on the other hand, had to go to the ER for IV fluids. I was so dehydrated from food poisoning that the nurses blew 2 veins before they could establish an IV. 4 hours, a bag of fluids, and many nausea meds later, I've been sent home. But doc says it'll probably be a rough 48 hours. I have been sick for 13 HOURS straight and still can't keep anything down. Can't wait for the hospital bill to come in the mail. 😒
Thanks again, Bruchis. Its...
