We bought a washer and dryer from Costco.com. We were assigned a delivery date and time, and told this would be confirmed at another point in the process. That never happened.
The washer and dryer were delivered on time, and then things went down hill. The “white glove” team didn’t bring their own tools and did not wear masks, so the borrowed my tools, and we stayed away from them. After completion they wanted me to sign of. I asked if they had tested them. They said yes they has. I was skeptical because sitting in the next room we did not hear either run. I signed for acceptance only.
After they left we tried them out. First thing we found is the water had not been turned on to the washer. White glove tested right? We turned on the water and it became clear very quickly that the washer had not been leveled. It shook so badly I was concerned that it would destroy my flooring. The Dryer seemed to be ok.
I am disabled with terminal lung disease which makes it impossible for me to level the washer myself. We also had determined that the installers took our transport puns for the washer. I called Costco. After about an hour on hold I talked to someone who promised to get someone out to fix the problem, but were unable to say when. Unable to do anything else we waited.
The next day I repeated the process taking about the same amount of time with exactly the same result.
We called the Son in-law. He came right over and leveled the washer and we are good to go, except for those missing transport pins and the sour taste in my mouth.
Today Costco calls. Two weeks late they are finally ready to send someone out to make things right. Needless to say I’m not real happy with the phone call. We just want the transport pins. After a rather lengthy filibuster the “customer assistance” person tries to give me the phone number for LG warranty services so we can navigate that nightmare in search of replacement pins. I informed her that warranties are for defects in material or workmanship, not loss or theft due to terrible Costco Filthy Mitten service. Please pass on DO NOT TRUST THE COSTCO WHTE GLOVE DELIVERY. You will be disappointed. Merry Christmas...
Read moreWe went to the Kennewick, WA store on Friday, August 6. Friday has been the day for senior hours since we moved to Washington a year ago, but today when we arrived, the doors were not open and there were two lines. There were no signs posted nor employees there to explain what was going on but employees arrived, seeing the two lines, entered the store and got ready to work. We could see them through the large garage-like doors! Did it occur to any one of them to tell management that there were two lines out there and there is confusion as to what happened to the Friday senior hours? Nope. At 9:50 an extremely rude and discourteous employee came out and informed us (the seniors) that "just like every other day of the year there is only one line. You will need to move to the other line". The "other" line extended out past the tire center and into the southernmost parking lot. We had been lined up along the northernmost side. So all the seniors had to walk over to the END of that line. I'm not opposed to taking my turn, but when I asked the rude employee when the hours changed, she responded that "it was on the website, there are signs posted, and you could have called. the store." Does ANYBODY call Costco to ask if the hours have changed? Who checks the website for changing hours? And would they know to look in the COVID update section to find that information? But the rude employee was correct in one respect; there was a sign (1) posted INSIDE the door where no one would have seen it. To add insult to injury, the now extremely long line blocked the tire center, and another rude employee actually honked the horn of the car he was trying to back out of the waiting area. Someone else yelled that the line could not block the service area. Does the left hand know what the right hand is doing??
The manager at this Costco should have been out there KINDLY telling those who obviously not checked the website, called the store on the off chance the hours had changed or read the one well-hidden sign instead of sending the condescending rude employee that came out. We are VERY disappointed in Costco's treatment of their...
Read moreGenerally speaking I really like Costco for the shopping experience, selection, and helpful workers, but some of their stances are not great. They require masks for some (though I've seen them ignore others, which is just strange). They also have a no-gun policy. Strange for a place that sells gun safes and ammo boxes. Makes me feel less safe. They state that only members can get in, but membership is just a matter of $55, and I don't believe for a second that any of those people out front are armed or prepared for stopping an active threat. It's such a soft target, with one entrance and one exit, no protection, no ability to defend yourself. And on top of it, they don't even trust their members. Not a fan. I used to pay for my membership, but my employer now provides one for me. If they didn't, I would have canceled it already.
UPDATE: Disappointing interaction today made me decide to change my review to 1 star. Up until now I had never been required to follow the mask mandate while in the store, which I had found very refreshing, as I have a personal conviction about forced mask-wearing in non-medical settings. And while there is a mandate in place, there are many businesses who choose not to enforce it. Heck, even the police and sheriffs in this area have refused to enforce it.
Well, today a manager approached me while I was in the store and told me I either had to wear a mask or leave. I decided to leave, of course, as I'm not going to follow a mandate with zero legal precedence. And of course he didn't bother speaking with the many people walking around with masks on their chins instead of their mouths, which just illustrates how meaningless this rule is, and how they aren't really interested in enforcing the mandate, just in making it LOOK like they are. They seem uninterested in keeping people safe or allowing them to make decisions for themselves. Seriously disappointed in a store that I used to really enjoy shopping at. Sadly, the more I learn about them, the less I want...
