Had a wonderful experience for our first time at the restaurant. I have to admit there were two minor drawbacks to the meal: the parmesan pork was a bit dry, and it took until late in the meal to get the famed pineapple we’d been dying to try.
Onto the positives, of which there are many. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were celebrating our one year dating anniversary. The wait staff was very nice and told us to save room for a complimentary dessert at the end of dinner to celebrate the occasion. This would prove to be a tall task. The bacon, polenta, broccoli salad, and mashed potatoes highlighted the salad bar, it was hard not to want seconds. But we flipped our cards to green and had so many delicious cuts of meat. The picanha, flank steak, ribeye, and both the garlic beef and garlic chicken were our favorites. Cali was great and knowledgeable about each cut of meat she brought out. It took a while to get the famed pineapple, but it was as advertised when it arrived. As we were slowing down towards the end of the meal, we flipped our cards to red, and Omar stopped by to ask if there was anything else we’d like. I said I’d love the ribeye and would like to finish with one more cut of that. He said, “no problem let me get that for you.” We finished what was on our plate and saw Cali come out with more pineapple and both quickly flipped our cards back to green. She gave us an extra slice :) About 10 minutes passed and no ribeye yet, but I was so full I was content to end the meal there. Another server came by to take our plates and our waitress returned to ask which dessert we’d like. We chose key lime pie, which ended up being delicious despite how full we were. Before dessert arrived, Omar came by and said, “sorry, the ribeye needed a bit longer, do you still want some?” I laughed and said “might as well,” and he brought me a fresh plate followed by Cali a few minutes later with a delicious mid-rare slice of melt in your mouth steak.
Moral of this long story, if you’re looking for a restaurant in the Tri-Cities for a special occasion, count on Boiada to make it worth your while. Cali and Omar are rockstars and we can’t wait for the next birthday or anniversary to have an excuse...
Read moreA hidden gem in the Tri-Cities near Columbia Center Mall. We arrived and was kindly met and asked if we had a reservation. We didn't and it was fine as the restaurant had open tables at the time. The restaurant is delightfully appointed in Brazilian style and very clean. The seating of the dining area is around a large freshly maintained salad bar. We discussed the menu choices and the meal was explained. We were hungry so we decided on the Brazilian Barbeque of which did not disappoint. We were served salads, with olives sautéed mushrooms and salami and cheese, cheesy muffins, rice and black beans "baracho" style (soup) . I recommend saving yourself for the never ending entre. The menu details all the meat the Gaucho will bring to the table (11 different types meat and or cuts such as filet mignon, ribeye, sirloin and many more Brazilian cuts and preparations) hot from the grill, juicy and on a skewer. He will bring the meat to your table and politely ask, how do you like your meat (rare, medium, well done?). He will carve off a perfect portion for each one at the table according to their liking. This is a fabulous feast, so come hungry. He will bring back a different steak, chicken or lamb until you flash your card. Each person at the table is provided one card with one side is red the other side is green. Green means yes, please bring more servings of meat. Red means no thanks, I am full. My wife and I was able to eat all the food that was offered and the Gaucho knew how to portion out the meal perfectly. The price is medium for the amount of food and low for the quality of food, with a trip advisor $$ and 5 owl eyes, I spot a bargain! I have posted some photos of the restaurant. There is outdoor seating for warm days or nights. I would get a reservation because seating is limited, so call ahead and Helio (pronounced Elio) will make sure you have a reservation. Oh yes, I forgot the...
Read moreThe food and drinks over all are great, the people circulating the meat were super friendly and asked if we were looking for anything specific each time to make sure we had a chance to try it all. the salad bar was well stocked with pretty decent options. the only issue we had was sadly with the service. we were given 3 menus for 8 of us. we had to stop someone and ask them to take our drink orders as the server was no where to be found. waters were not refilled and since your eating a large portion of meats some a bit dry some water is helpful especially if it was your only beverage, tried several times over the hour and a half to get a refill for water and drinks had to get up and ask someone for both, water was refilled once and we asked for a pitcher or a few additional glasses to be filled and both were denied. at the end we asked for the desert menus, after waiting 20 mins for the server to come back around to take the order which he never did. so we tried to get someone to bring the checks over and that also never happened so we had to go to the front to pay we were a party of 8 so an automatic 18% gratuity was added to all of our checks which normally is more than fine but when we lacked service in all capacity from start to finish other than the people circulating the meats, 18% is pretty steep when the service was well below average. this was all of our first times being at this location and the lack of service was very disappointing. the food is great but when the service is less than average I don't honestly know if we will return to this location or simply continue to go when we are out of town to other locations with a better experience. You are also not allowed to take any left overs home, which we have been able to do at other locations if it was a small amount and clearly not trying to stock your...
