I'm usually not the type to go out of my comfort zone when it comes to food. Admittedly, I am glad my wife dragged me to this place.
This place deserves a detailed review, so I will give as much as I can:
Atmosphere:
To start, walking in was a shock as the atmosphere makes you feel you are in for a treat. There are permeating smells that smoothly take over your nostrils in such a delicious way. The combination of all the delicious foods and desserts fills the air and you don't know where it comes from. The music is not overwhelming and loud, but is sweetly playing in the background filling out the ambiance of an Indian restaurant.
The tables are placed with golden utensils and a neat plate that makes you feel you are eating a fancy dining hall meant for the upper class. Decorative adornments line the walls that helps you feel you are escaping Wisconsin for just a bit.
Restrooms were clean! I've been to other Asian restaurants and the restrooms are usually the last to have the attention of the staff. Not here. That is commendable.
Service:
The service! The staff were cheerful and happy that you were visiting their place. My family and I were quickly seated and they quickly provided water to drink. When it was time to order, the waiter was helpful and explained everything and even suggested a few dishes. We were eager to try his recommendation, and will try others when we return (and we will return).
They were busy, but the wait staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable while we waited offering appetizers or drinks. They even apologized for taking so long. We didn't mind the wait at all as we were sure the food was being prepared fresh. I am not sure if there was an assigned waiter because all of them cheerfully assisted with our questions without delay.
Food:
I am always wary of dine-in restaurants as I usually have to add my own small dose of salt and/or pepper. At this restaurant, the food was perfect the way it was served. We had a few dishes which included appetizers, children's menu, and dinner items. Chicken Tikka masala, cheesy naan (appetizer), cheese pizza naan, and paneer pakora (appetizer) were the main dishes we tried. All of which was incredible and highly recommended.
The food arrived fresh and steaming with flavor which further filled the air for the next walk in visitors. I can't explain the flavors because the ingredients do not do it justice. The chicken was not dry and was cooked to perfection. I usually never trust chicken at restaurants.
Unfortunately, as they are Indian, there is no beef. Do not expect there to be beef as you will be disappointed. There are fish varieties as well as vegetarian dishes that I am not partial to, but I may give a try next time we visit.
Overall:
I do not regret visiting this place. If you are having a hard time convincing someone, show them this review. Message me directly if needed, and I will gladly try to convince that person to at least try...

It's about time we have a true Indian restaurant in Kenosha.
This restaurant is located where Charcoal Grill once was. Place was remodeled, giving it that Indian decor. Upon walking in, you would expect a bigger place, but don't fret, there is a bigger banquet hall next door for larger parties. I was immediately greeted and seated. Not so loud Indian music is playing in the background. There are plenty of booth tables, bar height tables, and a square like bar area with counter height seating. It is a full bar. I myself have never tried to drink any alcoholic beverages whenever I've eaten Indian food. Ruins the taste to me.
Honestly, I have to say, I didn't experience any of the negatives that were posted on Yelp. They have made a lot of changes since my first review.
I know, you're probably saying come on dude, the foooooood! Lol
First, they have a large selection of appetizers and meals. My food overall was a 5 out of 5. I had the Chicken Malai Tikka Rolls, which was outstanding, especially with the mint sauce and the cream sauce. I don't understand why my taste buds went crazy when I added the red onion to my fork. Flavor was all over my tongue, and no it wasn't spicy. For my main course, I had the Lamb Saag with medium spice. Medium was just enough heat for me. Good lord, that meat was so tender. It's a delicious dish that comes with rice and I ordered the Garlic Naan. I do believe you will be pleased with the food, but if I say I'll be back, that means the food is pretty decent. The prices are pretty decent to as nothing is over $19.00.
For dessert, I had the Tres Leches Cake. Yummy it was. Soft and spongy in the middle and not too sweet. I was surprised when they told me it house made and not store bought.
The wait staff was awesome. I can't count the number of times I was checked on. I really appreciated that a lot, because it allowed me time to ask questions. They even explained some of the menu items as well.
Couple of things to note. They have a lunch buffet Monday through Thursday from 11 to 3. Menu items expected to change daily. Lastly, they will allow payment of your bill at the table. I asked and they obliged.
It might be obvious the staff might be new at this, but to me they are willing and able to make a few changes as needed. I wish India Masala House nothing but success. I'll be back for sure. Welcome to the...
Read moreThis was very disappointing on so many levels. We were so excited to try the restaurant in Kenosha. We usually have to go to Milwaukee or Vernon Hills for good Indian food. The Mango Lassi was made with Mango flavoring & milk (I asked). So it was very thin and lacked the richness a Mango puree & yogurt would have added. Every sauce was thin and watery and lacking again, in the rich flavor one expects from Indian food. The tandoori lamb chops had a mushy coating and the tandoori chicken was a disaster. First of all, the chicken was brown and had no red tandoori coloring, it was barely warm and so we asked about it. Turns out the chicken is cooked in the afternoon and then reheated for dinner. We left the entire plate untouched on the table. The waiter didn't even ask us why we weren't eating it. The rice was such a surprise....I think it was minute rice. After tasting it we asked the waiter about it and he actually said it was basmati rice (with a straight face)! The Chicken Tikka Masala had such a faint color but tasted adequate. The Butter Chicken was also decent but not as good as the other restaurants we go to routinely. The Chana Masala was ok but it was in a very dark brown sauce which is not typical and the chickpeas were undercooked. The goat curry was the only dish we liked and even then the pieces of meat were usually small and too many bones. They offer 4 spice levels but even the mild was way too hot! When the bill arrived it was handwritten but had no prices on it. We paid up at the counter but the guy had to look at the menu then back to his handheld device and then type in the amount. He had to...
