Seis Modern Cocina — Restaurant in Kenosha

Never knew this place existed! We decided to check it out after seeing an Instagram post, “half off margaritas and select appetizers.” Come to find it is only the quesadillas that are half off, which is one of two apps. The other being guacamole, which we ordered. The guacamole was delicious, however the chips were SO greasy. They must make them homemade, which I appreciate, but they were literally soaked in grease when they were served. The bartender was so sweet and made the most delicious margaritas! I did see her break a few glasses and overall seemed a little flustered and inexperienced behind the bar. It was also odd that when my sister ordered another drink, the bartender made a new one - but poured it in her existing glass, which had 1/3 of her last margarita in it still. The food was okay, nothing special. Carne asada taco was dry, carnitas were fatty and looked undercooked, Al pastor was the best. Manny, our waiter, was amazing! We did mention to Manny how small the rice portion was, he agreed! All sides are extra, the rice is $4 and was maybe 1/2 cup. It was delicious, but I need more rice for $4. If you want to stick to that portion, the price point needs to be lowered. When speaking to Manny about the rice, the manager/owner (Rob Guerrero) was nearby and we expressed our opinions. He did not offer any solution or apologize, he simply asked if it was served in a “mound” and we said no, and he just walked away. I would say after this interaction that his customer service is lacking. Overall, I personally would not return. It seems as if they need to iron out some kinks, but upon research it looks like they’ve been open since October?! Insane. It felt like it was opening night, I was waiting for John Taffer to come out and stop the madness. 5 Stars - A Hidden Gem in Downtown Kenosha! Safe, Modern Cocina is exactly what downtown Kenosha needed! The space is super clean, super modern, and gives off such an upscale yet welcoming vibe. I absolutely loved the stylish ambiance—it’s unlike any other venue in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of decorating for a private event here, and the experience was amazing. The owners were incredibly sweet, friendly, and inviting. They made the process smooth and stress-free.

Now, let’s talk food—phenomenal. Everything was flavorful, seasoned to perfection, and served fresh. The chips and salsa were addicting, and their non-alcoholic mimosa? A must-try! The music, atmosphere, and overall vibe of the venue just make you want to stay a little longer.

Oh my goodness, such a wonderful experience!! Our party of 10 wandered into this lovely restaurant and was warmly welcomed by everyone! Ella, our absolutely darling server, was so attentive, friendly and gave us tasty suggestions on drinks and dishes. My raspberry mojito was a lovely, refreshing cocktail which i thoroughly enjoyed As we were enjoying the ambiance, Rob the owner came by and brought us the tastiest guacamole and chips. He took the time to welcome us and share his love of Kenosha and the sights we should see. Every dish he brought to the table was delicious and you can really see the care and pride he takes in his food.
