Meh. We have an outstanding Bojangles near us and this store was a far cry from our regular haunting spot.
The interior was very new with a McDonald's or Arby's feeling inside. There was nothing pre-cooked, so every order was basically made-to-order, which is nice if you have the time, which we did, but not so nice for those expecting fast food.
The staff needs to learn significantly better customer service because when a gentleman ordered a chicken tenders meal, one of the tenders was barely half the size of any other tender inside his box. When he pointed this out to the server, she said that's how they came. To end this customer exchange, she should have simply gone back and returned with one or two properly-sized tenders to make the customer happy, but she refused. He refused the meal (I would have!) and requested a refund, but then, she said she couldn't give him a copy of the refund receipt, that they never gave out such receipts, and he would see it on his credit card bill! After many minutes of the customer insisting, she finally produced one for him. It was strange to see a restaurant lack such simple customer skills.
As for our meals, I think the oil wasn't hot enough because my chicken was fully cooked, but greasy and my fries were soggy. I received our meals ahead of a customer that had been there ahead of us. He was the one who informed us that the food was cooked-to-order, so we should expect to wait a long time, as he had. He was pretty exasperated when we were served ahead of him. I don't know what he ordered, but I'm glad I ordered a 2-piece meal and my son ordered a chicken tenders meal.
As for the flavor, the chicken was bland, not the traditional slightly-spicy flavor of the Bojangles where I live, here in Raleigh, NC. The fries were properly spiced, but they were soggy, which ruined any flavoring put on them.
I would be wary of visiting this place in the future. I won't be surprised if this store closes within a year given the low quality of the food...
Read moreThis visit did not go well. The place looked mostly deserted, and I should have taken that as a sign. It was 1 p.m. so the lunch rush probably just wrapped up. I was greeted quickly and professionally on the drive-thru speaker. My simple order was complete in seconds, and the young lady explains that it would be a 4 minute wait for my potatoes. I pulled around to the window and paid her, and she asked me to pull forward. I normally try to gently explain that I want to stay at the window, as that keeps the pressure on to get my food delivery. In this case she asked me so quickly to move forward I assume she must have another customer coming right behind me. I pulled forward and began the wait. I distracted myself by catching up on social media and about 12 minutes had expired. Zero customers had come in behind me, so I finally decided to back back up to the drive-thru window. There was no one immediately visible, so I waited wondering if perhaps everyone had been called away to some urgent issue. Eventually I saw a worker cleaning just outside of my angle. I tapped on the window and they came over looking bewildered. I explained that I had been waiting a long time for my food, and she was immediately apologetic and went off looking for my food. Eventually I saw the young lady that had helped me walk around from the back of the store, still wearing her headset. As soon as the other employees appeared to chastise her for not delivering my food, she glanced my way and marched back to the back of the store. My food showed up a couple minutes later with apologies from the staff and I drove away. What I got was the soggiest biscuit and the suckiest potatoes I've ever received at a Bojangles. It is probably a product of my food sitting unattended for a period of time. I don't know what happened, but it was very...
Read moreSlow service is an understatement - waited 30 minutes on an order that was wrong. Even after, we were still missing two pies. Food that we got tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The chicken was soggy and had a stale flavor and the fries I ordered tasted day old and microwaved.
We ended up getting a refund on the pies because they never came. We were there for over 50 minutes and when we asked for a refund, we had to wait for someone to come up from the back who was really trying to get us to just take them to go.
Sad thing is, we weren't the only ones who had to wait so long on food, most everyone in the restaurant waited 20-30 minutes. The worst was a group had been clearly waiting way before we arrived, received their order to-go at the same time as us.
Service was too slow and frankly terrible for old, oily food. The only thing positive was the biscuit was flaky and delicious. Otherwise even the restaurant itself was a mess. Tables hadn't been cleaned, the napkin station was messed up, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in hours (at best).
If you want "Cajun" chicken, just go to Popeye's in Lexington. It's cleaner, tastier, and if they mess up your order is rectified without attitude and having to wait half an hour. Your taste buds and...
