Terrible. Went tonight for dinner at 4:01 PM. Dinner buffet STARTS at 4:00 pm. First, everything on the buffet was cold, leftovers from lunch. I mean cold cold. All meat selections were dry and hard. They had dark meat chicken only on the buffet, no pulled chicket or breasts, nothing but what they call legs and thighs. Nothing but bone. The legs were the size of a chicken wing drumette. They do not have pulled pork, they have what they call sliced pork and its nothing but hunks of fat. I can’t believe this place is serving the same lunch buffet they had hours before for dinner and charging MORE for it. I was shocked when i got what little I got there that was all ice cold and old. I know it was leftovers of everything including meat because it was all half gone. Dinner buffet starts at 4 pm and we sat down at 4:01. This was intop of everything being cold on a hot buffet. Im gonna be honest here, Golden Corral has better pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked chicken, fried chicken, turkey and ham on there buffet for $5.00 less. They have a way better selection and its always hot and fresh. They have turkey, ham, all the pulled meats. This moonlight was ewww. Ribs were tough and hard as a rock, bone chicken that was all dark meat and literally all bone. Avoid this place. Go to Evansville or Golden Corral next time. I paid $20.99 a piece at this place and went home and made dinner lol never again. Oh and the rolls were hard as a rock and dry tasteless corn bread that tasted like card board. I have read the other reviews on here and I must say there is NO WAY these were made by people that know BBQ. These have to be employees of this place because there meat is horrible and the sides are even worse. Bandana, missions, homers, famous daves, sonnys bbq, thats good BBQ. There meat selection was so old and so little i decided to order a lb of smoked BBQ TURKEY to take to the table because i was starving and i kid you not the kid pulled out a prepackaged log of lunch meat turkey like what you buy at walmart and sliced it and packaged it like cold lunch meat. Lol here i thought i would be getting fresh sliced carved turkey breast that they had cooked that day. They actually serve carved turkey at ALL bbq places i have ever been to...
Read moreI honestly thought about 1 stars, and by the end of review downgraded to 1. Hopefully this saves someone from a poor experience. Heard good things through the grapevine about this place but was not impressed. My brother makes better bbq meats before he adds sauce.
Service was good. We tipped well feeling bad for the waitress.
We did the buffet as it seemed like that’s what everyone did. I normally wouldn’t have and would not return. I’m going to list everything I tried and rate it 1-5.
Green beans - 2 overcooked and soggy Mac and Cheese - 4 probably the best thing here Stuffing looking thing with gravy on top 1 - sandy flavorless grits and inedible Bbq chicken quarters - 2 old cold soggy skin. Inside ok. Beef brisket - 2 chewy and lacking flavor Sliced pork - 3.5 probably the best meat there Sliced mutton - 2.5 lacking flavor Chopped mutton - 3.5 ok for sandwiches soaked in bbq sauce Pork ribs - 1 inedible Bbq sauce - 3 not much flavor, not sure if they have more than 1 only 1 was at the table but whatever it was needs a serious replacement. Very disappointing for bbq. Salad - 4 large bowl of ice burg with 10 leafs of spinach, toppings buffet. Uneven sliced cucumber that wasn’t peeled 1 Desserts - all pie crusts were soggy and inedible. Not flakey even when fresh. Dry powdered crust that turns slimy in the buffet. Beware. Lemon ice box - 3 undercooked / wet merengue Pecan pie - 2 almost inedible Black berry cobbler 3 - overly sweet and ruined by poor crust Cherry cobbler - 2 taste like store bought / McDonald’s Vanilla soft serve - 4 as expected. No chocolate :(
Save your time. Save your calories. Save your money. Eat something fresh somewhere else. This place reminds me of a place my grandfather would take me as a child where the food wasn’t great but it was cheap and because we could eat as much dessert as we wanted we would be happy.
TLDR - cold, poor quality control, under/overcooked foods, soggy slimy...
Read moreLet me explain why I will NEVER eat at moonlight bbq again, with pictures even! On 12/15/2022 I came in to have lunch. There were 2 of us, we walked in at around 2:45 pm and were told the Buffett was closed, and it was menu items only currently. So, we were seated and ordered two of the half chicken meals, one of which had a double order of fries as a side and the other had beans and a cup of Burgoo. The pricing on the menu is as follows and can be seen in the pictures. Half chicken 10.49, fries and beans included, burgoo is additional 1.50, and 6.00 for two drinks, which brings my total to 28.48 before tax. If you look at my check in the picture, you will see that we were over charged for both chicken meals, charged for fries that should have been included, and charged double for the burgoo. At this point the waiter informs us that the menus are actually wrong, and have been wrong since they were ordered but they just weren’t going to replace them. If you look at the picture of the menu you will see it was printed 11/22. So, the menu pricing is incorrect on everything, but they won’t tell you that. Nothing was ever said about the entire menu being wrong, and the pricing we received could not be explained other than “we changed it” but continue to not inform people and hand out incorrect menus. If you eat here, you will be taken for a ride on pricing. I will no longer support this place of business as I cannot see how it would ever be deemed okay to continue doing business this way to thousands of...
