CHECK YOUR RECEIPT, THEY ADD ITEMS AT THE DRIVE-THRU
Third Visit: Decided to try breakfast again. Ordered the same egg breakfast with shredded hash browns & biscuit. This time when I ordered the gravy, I paid attention to what she said. She asked if I wanted the "breakfast gravy" (this is how I know what she said last time). So I thought she meant as opposed to brown gravy. She did NOT mention any size or price difference. She did NOT explain it was in a bowl. It seems like a gimmick to get more money out of customers. I definitely did not like not having the choice to decide for myself. I also ordered pancakes. All of the food was good. She asked me if I wanted meat with the egg platter, & I told her no on at least 3 occasions. Somehow bacon was added to my order. Again, it seems like a way to get more money. This time it was almost $14.00 for the meal. That's crazy for 2 eggs, shredded hash browns, a biscuit, gravy, & 2 pancakes. I asked for a receipt this time. That's how I saw the charge for the gravy & the egg platter was $1.00 higher. It's just plain wrong. No matter how good the food is, if they screw you at the Drive-thru it's not worth it.
Second Visit: Decided to try breakfast so called & ordered ahead. Ordered the egg breakfast, with 2 eggs, shredded hash browns, biscuit, & (what I thought was 25¢ extra) gravy. The person on the phone asked if I wanted "breakfast gravy". She didn't explain that it was different than the 25¢ gravy. I asked for it to be on the side instead of being poured over the biscuit. It came in a bowl & was about $1.50 more. Again, no explanation of price difference. Instead of a meal costing about $5.00, it was $7.00. I thought maybe it was because I asked for it on the side, so I didn't say anything to Cagney's.
First Visit: The food is good and the servers are friendly.
On this visit, there were so many customers, and it was after 1:00 PM.
My best friend and I only get to visit when I'm in town, since I live about 2 hours away. So we've been here twice lately to eat and catch up.
The music is too loud, but it's probably so it can be heard over all of the customers.
Last visit, our server was too busy to continue with our table. We were there for a while, so it would've been hard to keep up with for anyone.
They have a drive thru, which I haven't tried, for those who want the good food but don't want...
Read moreI was craving a pancake breakfast after work on a Saturday and Cagney's has always been a good place to go for breakfast type food anytime in the 8 Years I've lived in Kernersville. I thought that the fact I arrived about an hour before they closed shouldn't have been a probIem. I was led to a dirty table by the hostess who proceeded to sort of clean the table. When I sat down my arms were in sticky mess still on the table. I asked for the breakfast menu and the nice waitress helped me to decide what to get with my pancake. I ordered a coffee. The coffee was lukewarm and my waitress was very busy, so I stopped another employee that was filling supplies and told her about the coffee. She couldn't of cared less and didn't tell anyone. When my waitress finally came back she took my cup to the coffee station and had a brief chat and chuckled about something with the hostess that had shown me to my table. She came straight back to my table and asked me "if they made a fresh pot, would I drink it"? I was a little taken back, honestly! I was like, isn't that just part of what you do here, making coffee? I thought to myself, what was I supposed to say, that I would drink the whole pot? (I normally drink several cups with a meal) I also thought about the fact that some people order coffee when they get dessert. I would think that it would be a natural thing for a restaurant to have hot coffee on hand right up to closing, not have it shut off nearly an hour before closing! I thought it was a very not classy, low rent and frankly I believe they were just being so cheap they didn't want to make it! Personally I think if a paying customer comes in the way I did they should be provided with the coffee even if it was only one cup! At that point I decided to cancel my meal and just leave. That was only the latest issue I've had at Cagney's and there won't be another! I won't be back...ever....
Read moreI have come to Cagneys MANY times and never had any issues. Tonight, however, was different. My dad took me out for Mothers Day and I had popcorn shrimp, Cole slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. Everything was fine. Then after i got home i had some gas. No big deal right? Wrong. Just a little while ago, I went to the bathroom bc my stomach was hurting and I ended up have really bad diarrhea (sorry. I know. Tmi. But yall need to know). And my stomach is still hurting. So I called the restaurant JUST to give them a heads up that they may want to check their shrimp or Cole slaw, as those are the 2 things out of my meal most likely to make someone sick. I told the lady that answered the phone (who was very nice and apologized btw) that I didn't want anything, I just wanted to let them know that they may want to check the shrimp or slaw. She said she'd go get the manager. Then an older lady, with an accent, got on the phone. I said again that I didn't want anything but to let them know. And here's where the issue came and why I will NEVER eat here again. The lady became aggressive with an attitude and said that it was "impossible" for me to have gotten sick bc their shrimp is fresh daily, and "impossible" for my stomach to get upset so soon after eating. Which, anyone who knows anything about food poisoning, knows this is not true. I was a server for MANY years, so I ONLY wanted to make sure someone else didn't get sick. But instead I was invalidated and treated like I was some angry customer demanding money. I wasn't. Me getting sick is not the reason I will not come back. It is the managers reaction to my complaint that has lost my business. This is widely inappropriate behavior for a manager to a...
