My husband and I came into Sun Valley for our summer visit from Boise. We picked Il Naso based on its reviews and past experience under previous ownership. Upon ordering the chicken we asked if it was dark or light meat. They let us know it was dark so we ordered it. They served a breast. Not what was ordered. The server was put out when I requested having them char the outer skin. And confused. The issue isn't the mistake because mistakes happen. Not a big deal but the defensiveness of the entire group of people we dealt with was distasteful. The server was frozen and couldn't figure out the issue. The manager brashly told us ' it's chicken'. In other words. Deal with it ! Then the chef who I believe is the owner came out and lectured us about the fact that fine dining never serves dark chicken meat. How would I know this since I am not a chef. But somehow despite what the server said it felt like 'how stupid of me to expect any different'. So at the end of all this there was zero remorse. I chose not to order something else since my husband was almost done. What do you think we were charged for. The rest of the meal!! That's right. No credit for the horrible service and attitude. Just credit for the chicken. Furthermore on the busiest night in Sun Valley the restaurant if very empty. We wondered why. Now we know. Clearly the word is out!!! DO NOT WASTE fine dining money here.
Ps: go down and read the owners defensive remarks to other negative feedback. I'm afraid he will soon be out of business. Perhaps the strengths are being a chef. Not an owner.
Update to review: missing the point. You cannot remedy a meal by offering to bring it to the guest when the other guest has completed their meal with no apology and a bad attitude. Remedy to poor service and rude help is to clear the bill so that you are given another chance because a replaced meal ruined the evening. If we wanted to eat separately we would not have...
Read moreThere are not enough adjective to describe how much we enjoyed our dinner! Flavors, aromas, ambiance, wines, and extraordinary service. I highly recommend the mussels as an appetizer. A huge plate of steaming mussels in a broth that left us breathless. The order was so large we took some home! The chicken dish is delightful. I am not sure how they were able to deliver a chicken breast so tender and flavorful. It was by far the best chicken we have had in a very long time. The gnocchi in pesto was a treat. We recommend calling them gnocchi-tini. Small puffs of heaven smothered in pesto and cheeses. We enjoyed dinner with a bottle of 2014 L’Ecole Cabernet. Suffice it to say, we finished it! Service was superb and the Chef came out to see how we enjoyed dinner, which is always an extra special touch. Our experience was top notch, we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ketchum. We will...
Read moreWent here for dinner and was sat up front by the bar. The dishwasher was right there and was so loud we couldn't really have a conversation. The bartender was drinking wine the whole time we were there, B.S.-ing loudly with the patrons at the bar . The people at the bar had had a bit to drink and were very loud. They kept throwing out f bombs and were talking about things that were very much not appropriate for "an Italian fine dining." The server refilled my sons drink and proceeded to talk to the patrons at the bar over it while playing with the straw. Not that is its a pandemic or anything going on. I gave it 2 stars because the food was really good. It is too bad that the atmosphere definitely ruined the experience. We left and went somewhere else for dessert. Was looking forward to the lemon creme brulee, but just wanted to be out of...
