The wierdest thing happened to me here.
I work nights and watch my infant during the day. so, i am always ready for more sleep. Somedays I get lucky and my little one takes a super long afternoon nap and i get a long nap also. A few months ago (3 months) on 1 of these lucky days my husband woke me up from the nap and asked what was for dinner. I said "i am not awake, so I guess Applebees" i was having a really hard time waking up. We went to Applebees and I explained to my waitress that I was not in a bad mood or anything, i had just woke up, we live really close. She said "Oh, honey, you will get over it. I have some medician in my purse if you need it" 🤤🤤🤤🤤 i explained 1 more time that i was tired, and just having a difficult time waking up. She said" i know headaches can be rough, you should take some of my medician" At this point I thaught maybe she is just not listening to me. And tried to ignore her. She brought our food. I do not remember very much. I was so tired and was glad when the meal was over. I went home and went back to sleep.
Fast forward to this evening. We had not had dinner at Applebees in a while. 3 months. We go in and are seated close to where we were seated the last time. We sat down and they took our drink orders and then my husband and I kind of went back and forth about what what we wanted to eat so the waitress came over a couple times asking us if we're ready to order. My husband normally takes a little longer to decide on things, so, I asked her to come back twice. I already knew what I wanted, I wanted the same thing I had the time before. I had my husband order 1st. Then I ordered, the waitress says " oh, what you got before!!!" I was a little shocked 🤤🤤😕🙃 She says " Yes, what you ordered the last time you where here and had a head ache and wouldnt take my medician!!!" I really did not recognize her from the last time. I said " oh, you were a waitress last time? Cool!" Then the waitress points at the table we were sitting sitting at last time and goes "yes you were right over there and you wouldn't take my medicine"
It was weird, but she took our orders. Cool... then our appetizer came out of the same time as I salads. Then she brought our main dishes and my husband's was exactly as he ordered and mine was the exact opposite of what I ordered. As she had stated I was ordering the exact same thing that I ordered before and she remembered my order from months before. I had ordered the 6-oz steak mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. she brought me out macaroni and cheese with chicken tenders on top of it. The waitress at it down front of me and started walking away, i said" tgis is not what i ordered" She goes " are you sure" i said "yes, I know what I ordered and it isn't this and you told me that you knew exactly what I ordered two before you walked off to go put the order in" waitress then says "oh I guess that's not your order let me go check" She left the weird food there and then goes off for a long period of time. My husband is not sure if he should eat or not. She comes back 15min later and says " oh, i forgot to put your order in, you can eat that if you want" I told her I want what i ordered. She left plate again and tells me she would leave it there for whoever to nibble at. 😳😡🤢 She brings my food out way after my husband is done eating his. Guess that is what i get for not taking drugs from strangers...
Read moreWhere do I begin? This experience I had on 3/31/2014 was the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Let me preface this with the fact that I serve part time at a local steakhouse and have been in the restaurant industry as a server for over 7 years. When we arrived at the Applebees on Dorothy Lane in Kettering we were greeted promptly by a friendly host. He then took us to a booth in the bar area. To accommodate a child we needed a high chair for, he stacked 2 high chairs on top of each other. Which is a HUGE safety hazard, and she couldn’t get within 6 inches of the table. I elected to put her in a booster seat. After about 5 minutes we were greeted. And after about that same amount of time, all but one of us received our drinks. My mother didn’t get her drink until a good 30 minutes after the rest of us, and after we asked for it twice. The bartender actually had to come ask us what we wanted in lieu of the drink that was unavailable. Our 2 appetizers arrived 10 minutes apart. Our dip for our chips was cold. And, when it finally arrived, our spinach dip had a hard crust of cheese on top. Both plates were very VERY hot and their contents were not. I can only assume it’s because they sat under the heat lamps for an extended amount of time. When part of our entrees arrived, mine was disgusting. It had been under the heat lamp for so long the rice was dry and there was a crust on top of my sauce. My sister’s meal was in the same condition. We were informed my daughter’s burger was burnt and needed recooked. I shudder to think how bad it was when the entrees they did serve were in such poor condition. Nearly 10 minutes later 2 more entrees arrived that were in ok condition, and still no burger for the toddler, but at that point we’d had enough. I request a manager come to the table. The manager came over and made excuses for why we had such a bad experience, and even chuckled that their computers went down. She did ask that we pay for our cocktails, which we obliged. The server came back a few minutes later with my cash and said I could take that back, shoved it at me and ran off. We had planned to leave her the change for her troubles, because of my fellow server guilt, but decided not to after she was so rude. The entire staff at this restaurant is incompetent, from the “servers” to the “management” the “cooks.” I will never be back, and neither will any member of my family. Nor will anyone who takes my social media reviews seriously. This email will also be posted on Yelp, Urban Spoon, Twitter and Facebook. This experience cost me 2 hours of my life I will never get back, and I didn’t...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were told to wait because there was only one server. We asked if we could be seated and just wait for the server. We were told we can't seat you yet until he's able to clear other tables. We waited 25 minutes no one else was waiting but us. We asked again, can we at least be seated? We were then told the same thing. I repeated to the seater, I just wanted to have a drink that I could get myself amd sit at 1 of the 15 empty booths that were emptied and from there we said we could wait for the server. The bartender came and finally seated us and offered us seats where we were told before weren't available. We asked to see the manager. We told the manager on duty at 10 p.m. what took place. He repeated what the seater told us. I further explained we could have ordered our drinks at the bar and just waited at a booth. He said we have a waiting policy- we then told him there was no one else waiting but us. He said really it was just you guys? He then said he didn't believe he could do anything for us and walked away. We sat another 10 minutes and decided to leave. No apology no attempt to rectify the situation. I understand if your short staff but its not ok to be dismissive and disrespectful. As we were leaving the seater says " have a good night". Im posting because I don't want others to experience what we just did. Oh I failed to mention a woman was nursing her baby across from us at a table with no covering over her. Disappointed with Applebees service in Kettering, Ohio - Delco Park. We assumed it would be nice because we had gone to a different location earlier in the week in Franklin, Ohio. Truly not the same experience...
