Management needs to wake up and look around.
I went there for the first time tonight. The pizza we ultimately received was decent, but everything around it was poorly managed and very off-putting.
The meal started with our server bringing us water by holding the water from the top of the glass, letting it hang down below her palm. I politely pointed out that because she had been touching the entire rim of the glass, and since they didn't hand out straws, everywhere I drank from would have been touched by her and everything she's touched. She did not apologize and did not offer to replace the glass. When our glasses were picked up for refills, every time it was fully touched all the way around the top. Whatever these servers touch, you're drinking. This is very unhygienic, and the management should know better than to allow such service in an upscale restaurant (or any restaurant).
For a place with a woodfire oven, I was shocked that the bread they bring to the table is refrigerated. It would have been so good warm, dipped in the fresh herbs and oil that they bring, but ours was a good 20-30 degrees BELOW room temperature - clearly straight from a cooler. Who wants cold bread to dip in oil? Ours went to waste.
There appeared to be two managers there. They were running around a lot and standing around a lot, but I never saw one stop by any table and ask how things were. The servers stood around a lot too. We were sat near the cooking area and the servers just hung out there talking with the cooks, joking and having fun. Customers were ignored. My credit card sat on the table for a good five minutes to hint we were long ready to leave. My friend ultimately had to get our server's attention. Rather than just letting your servers stand around and chat with each other, management should teach them to watch their customers, pick up the napkins on the floor, or do SOMETHING beyond nothing.
Finally, my friend got a side salad. He was told they had small versions of all their salads. He chose a ceasar. It was indeed a "small version" but it was still the full price - 7.25 for an add-on small side salad. He didn't want to make a fuss, so he paid it.
I will not be back. They were NOT busy... everyone was just standing around and when they offered service, it was unhygienic. Even if the pizzas are good, I can not recommend this place.
The photo shows exactly how my glass was served and how not to...
Read moreI have yet to have a bad experience with Figlio. Starting with their servers even though they tend to be on the younger side as an early twenties they're all extremely friendly they all know the menu they can all give honest opinions and they're willing to do so not just try to sell the highest price point but instead tell you what they truly like or don't like. The food is always great I don't go out for pastas honestly anywhere this is the only restaurant that I'll order pasta from because they stay true to what I believe Italian cooking in meaning that they let the ingredients speak for themselves they don't overdo all the ingredients and over process it overcook it over do everything it's simple it's delicate it's structured and balanced. The atmosphere is always quaint modern upscale but not overly so by any means. The only possible complaint that I would have is their drink options specifically beer if you offer three drafts it should be of three opposing styles in my opinion and of those three quote unquote craft beers but none of the good ones and that they are the ones that have been around the longest and everybody knows them but they aren't necessarily known for being superior quality taste appearance etc venture out support the local breweries which have amazing offerings and that can compliment every type of meal but that is really the only complaint that I have make more informed decisions when it comes to beer offerings the same as with wine and liquor where beer is now equally important to offer thought out selections. Aside from that keep up...
Read moreI have enjoyed dining out for over 50 years, but cannot remember any better restaurant experience than at Figlio, in recent memory. They feature an impressive menu, offering generous servings and reasonable prices, then compliment it all with an exceptional staff. From my perspective, they distinguish their business from all other local establishments, with these high standards. As a point of reference, my family became loyal patrons of another restaurant in the area, and planned dinner there every Friday, for 27 years. However within a few short weeks, Figlio quickly earned our allegiance, by providing better quality, satisfaction and reliability. Whisper, Amy and Rosie are just 3 of their remarkable servers, we had the good fortune of meeting. Though everyone, from management (Alesha) to hostess or chef, we find are welcoming, courteous and professional. Italian has always been my favorite cuisine and discovered their kitchen prepares the best pasta I ever tasted, thanks to a very talented Adam! Figlio became the place we now look forward to as a family, on a weekly basis. I sincerely appreciate their commitment to integrity, character and service, which is clearly genuine. I remain confident you too will find they deliver great quality and value, while exceeding every other dining expectation. The only way I can get motivated to post a review, is by a business that deservers every accolade. My best wishes to Figlio going forward, for your continued health...
