I stood in line with an employee directly in front of me making a doordash order or something for about 5-7 minutes. He never looked at me, spoke to me, acknowledged me- not once. What he finally did do was shout to his left that he needed help and still not looking up from the bagel he was spreading watery hummus on, hoping there was enough in the container to cover it, which there clearly wasent, and im sure there was no back up. When he shouted again for help, (there were only 2 of us in line) I finally said to him " ya know, if you would look at me or acknowledge me and let me know you are busy, instead of awkwardly ignoring me, you would probably feel less pressure and I prob wouldnt mind waiting. He said he was sorry and i told he didnt have to be, just for future reference. He then told me he was sorry again, and how busy he was, and when the manager finally walked up, he told her I was mad.i heard him mumble something about me being mad about him being busy or something. Seriously? Ive never had an issue in there, but now that this happened, ill just stick with my favorite muffin. They dont ignore me there and they dont get attitudes when they are clearly in the wrong. It was truly an awkward experience. I guess i was supposed to be staring at my phone the whole time. My bad. In response to your apology of my "feeling" ignored- i didnt feel ignored. I WAS ignored. And he wasent there soley for door dash. He was the only person on the line. And if what your saying is true, then the fault is yours for leaving customers with a ghost employee who is trained to only do door dash orders, and not trained to acknowledge...

I'm overall pleased with our experience at Barry's Bagels. The bagels were fresh and authentic (although there wasn't much blueberry to the blueberry bagel), the eggel breakfast sandwiches we got were better than fast food and the coffee was even good (creme brulee was our favorite). We went in on a busy Sunday morning with the line winding around the store so it was a bit of a wait. But where else are you going to get fresh bagels in Kettering other than Panera? And for me, long waits mean there's something worth waiting for.

My only observation (not really complaint) is that there is something to be said for illusion when it comes to food service and Barry's hasn't really mastered that. I appreciate that they want their food service line and fresh toppings visible but watching them make your egg sandwich in a microwave doesn't make it all that appealing, even if it tastes just fine and isn't sitting under a heat lamp for a half hour. I honestly think they'd do better with the old Bagel Cafe model where you place your entire order and then wait for your delicious food to magically be made, mostly behind the scenes. It also means less time waiting in a line before you have your first interaction with an employee, during busy times like when we visited.

I'm glad to have a bagel place in my...

I have gotten bagels from here before and they are always delicious. Today we decided to have lunch here. We got a ham sandwich on a garlic bagel, matzo ball soup, a onion stick with scallion cream cheese, a plain asiago bagel, and potato salad.

The onion stick with scallion cream cheese was our favorite, the scallion cream cheese was amazing and the whole thing just made us really happy.

The potato salad was ok but we both thought it was bland. No big deal.

The matzo ball soup was good except for the matzo ball. It tasted a little weird to me. Still, not a big deal as I still enjoyed it.

The big deal was the fact that my bagel sandwich was not on a garlic bagel like I ordered but on a sesame bagel. I HATE sesame seeds and honestly, that ruined the whole sandwich for me. The order had my phone number and everything attached to it so I don't know why they didn't call to ask what bagel I wanted if they were out of garlic bagels. Or they could have put it on a asiago bagel since I ordered one of those anyway. Anything but sesame or something sweet would have worked honestly.

The plain asiago bagel was very nice! Chewy on the outside but soft inside, the asiago cheese on top and bottom made it really nice.

We would try them again and hope they wouldn't ruin a $12...

Excellent bagels, poor execution, otherwise 5 stars. I came in an hour before close and could tell I wasn’t wanted. Boxes for inventory were everywhere and mats rolled up. Kid was sweeping inches from my table to get out. I wanted a quick dine in. I ordered my bagels, one butter one cream cheese, and they didn’t bother to toast them. If that’s not a given (should be), at least ask the guest? So I guess I’ll try to enjoy this room temperature bagel with caked, cold butter 🤦🏻. Maybe I’ll just buy in bulk and toast on my own if it’s that much trouble. Great bagels for sure though.

Stopped in for lunch once, and have gotten a dozen bagels to go two weekends in a row. They are truly superb bagels. My personal fave is the sunny grain (with sunflower seeds), and my husband loves the spinach feta. Our 5 year old recommends the chocolate chip. The flavored cream cheese is also delicious, love the veggie ranch with bits of fresh broccoli. Service has been very good every visit, too, with lots of patience explaining the menu and offering suggestions. So glad to have this location right down the street.

The bad: the bagel dog (with cheese) was apparently completely inedible. My son said it was hard as a rock and the hot dog was burnt and tough (and he said too wrinkly… whatever that means. It (and the nearly 8 dollars that I spent on it) went immediately into the trash. The good: basic bagels. Probably always a safe bet. The fact that I had to throw away the most expensive thing that I ordered (the lunch for one of my children) means I won’t be going back.
