The Koffie House — Restaurant in Key West

Fresh ingredients! Vegetarian and vegan friendly. My husband is a vegan, I am not; he loves good coffee; so after I googled choices nearby with good ratings,(and there were several), I decided to try this place because it had Koffie in their name; and well, that aught mean they are serious about coffee and it is a good chance it will be good. It was great! My husband ordered a RedEye (ie regular with a shot of espresso) and avocado toast (minus the egg — he’s a vegan). asked for hot sauce and she brought us a bottle of their homemade sauce! Homemade! Nothing wrong with store bought; but this place is the REAL DEAL!!! Goodness.

I ordered a non-fat small latte. the latte was soothingly smooth with a nice foamy top. For food I ordered their Shakshuka, which comes with a fried egg, cut up freshly made toasted bread slices and a sprinkle of feta. Delicious flavor, well made. sorry no photos.

The Koffie House offers an array of options of beverages, foods and of course coffee — without being inundated with over choice.

Super cute decor; chair seating is creative; love the array of choices and crystals here and there adding to the vibe and experience; very friendly.

They have free Wi-fi and upstairs is a comfy cozy hangout place; there’s a set up for a DJ and some metal singing bowls; chimes; crystsl bowl. Not sure what goes on upstairs and couldn’t find out (i asked but the person didn’t know about the singing bowls and other stuff).

After cruising the town, we stopped back for hubby to get another red-eye...

It should be Zero Star. You guys should give a refund to me.

This café uses ridiculously expensive coffee machines and grinders, so I ordered an Americano, super excited with high expectations.

But to my shock, they didn’t even grind fresh beans—they just poured pre-extracted coffee that had been sitting around.

Unbelievable. Isn’t it basic to grind beans with a good grinder and pull a fresh espresso shot to make an Americano?

I paid for a proper cup, but what I got was coffee that had been made in advance—so disappointing.

And get this—they stored that pre-made coffee in a plastic syrup container. You can already guess what that means: they probably poured hot espresso into that plastic bottle and kept it in the fridge.

Hot espresso in plastic? Hello, microplastics overdose.

I wish I can say something positive. My matcha was wasn’t the best either, it wasn’t blend properly , the croissants were okay, that’s about it. Customer service wise, -0; Mercedes, I have no idea who she thinks she is, if she’s the owner because she didn’t actlike it, you’re hurting your business. Business owner to business owner. she screamed at my child for touching a rock , an unauthorized adult shouldn’t address a child without the consent of their parent guardian , secondly, why are you picking up a fight with the child’s mother for defending their child? she’s lucky I’m not pressing charges or called the police , didn’t want to spoil my Mother’s Day weekend. Mercedes shouldn’t be doing customer service; it’s harming this business or just don’t bring your children. It’s pet friendly but not kid friendly. Highly...
