Duetto Pizza and Gelato — Restaurant in Key West

Everywhere our family vacations we always have pizza once (sometimes more depending on length of stay and how good it is). Well this is definitely a home run. The location is small and on a busy street but worth the walk if you can't park close. Very small inside and crowded so if your just getting a slice not a big deal or small group. Larger group I would definitely get it to go. We ordered two pepperoni pizzas and a four cheese no red sauce pizza. They were excellent! Took about 30 minutes to cook, so not bad for a wait time. The pizza is a thinner crust, not quite like a traditional New York Style but close. Each pizza is cut in 6 large slices and as you pick up the pizza the end does bend like a good large slice of pizza should. At least how I like it. Sauce was not too heavy and just enough was put on. If we decide to have some pizza again, we will definitely stop there again. Definitely recommend getting your pizza here if your in Key...

So disappointed. The pizza was dry, little to no red sauce, had little taste. Our veggie pizza had maybe 5-6 small veggies per slice, dry cheese. It was thin, the cheese was thin and dry, it wasn’t juicy, It was like a pre made pizza that had sat around. We’d heard such good things about Duettos. What happened? We see no reason to go back. Again, such a disappointment. Another thing, we first said we wanted pickup. The guy who answered the phone said they were swamped and it would take over 45 minutes. We said fine, then deliver when you can. He said that would take even longer. Wow, he really wanted our business! Not! We should’ve stopped talking and gone to Clemente’s at that point. I Live in Key West. Paradise Pizza is always awesome. They get busy... it is worth the wait. A lot of drunks end up there and it can get crazy... I never saw the staff be rude or disrespectful to a customer. I saw plenty of customers be jerks. Drunk, rude, swearing, trying to get the food free after they ate it all. I watched many gobble up the food and still complain. I feel bad for ALL the restaurant staff in KW. They deal with a lot of crap. So, try it out and understand.... It is the best crust and toppings on a pizza in KW. Upper Crust was good too but they closed. Paradise was always better. The food is really good too. I go for a slice of Veggie pizza most of the time. It's my favorite. Sometimes I buy a whole pie. It heats up well when you put a slice in the toast oven....
