Yummy Crab — Restaurant in Key West

We arrived and were seated by a waitress. She told us our waiter would be with us shortly. Then she sat another table a few minutes after us. She proceeded to walk by us (I’m sure that she could see we were agitated- it had been about 10 minutes at this point) and say “you aren’t my table” and helped the other table. Okay, so then why bother seating us? Thank God she isn’t an ER doctor.

Clearly she was interested in seating the other party as they were a larger group and she wanted the tips. After 20 more minutes, we finally spoke up- can we maybe at least have some drinks? It’s hot as hell outside, we are thirsty, we have a young child with us who is also very thirsty, and we can see that our waiter is very busy on the outside patio. Did you even inform him that we were waiting?!

Our waiter ended up being great. He didn’t seem very impressed with the waitress and apologized for the inconvenience. It wasn’t his fault. I would hate to have to work with someone who sees that you’re busy, seats someone at your section, and treats PAYING CUSTOMERS like they are invisible because we “aren’t her table.” The LEAST she could have done is take our drink order. Maybe she needs a refresher in what team work is.

The food was decent. The clams were good and the shrimp cocktail was a good value. We probably won’t return due to the experience. It was embarrassing and other customers could clearly tell that we were pissed off, as we absolutely...

We stopped here specifically because someone in our group saw the words Yummy Crab when we walked past and she wanted to eat Yummy Crab 😂. Follow the arrows upstairs. They do have an elevator if you need one! It was a relief to eat inside in the AC after shopping and walking up and down Duvall and going to the Aquarium. We had a party of 9 and were seated rather quickly. There were many options to choose from and the waiter was helpful in ensuring one of our party's food was cooked and kept separate due to a shellfish allergy. Ordering was very simple snd you can choose fried or steamed. Steamed comes in a bag (think seafood boil style) which you dump onto a plate. Everyone gets gloves and a plastic bib so you can really get dirty while eating! First you pick your meat and there's many options to choose from including combos (we got Alaskan King Crab legs). Each bag comes with corn and potatoes and we added sausage. You pick your style of seasoning. We picked Old Bay style being Native Virginia Beachers who relocated and have lived in Texas for the past 13 years and miss East Coast Seafood! You can also make it spicy! We also ordered Calamari appetizer and it was good. The place appears large and had a section that looks like they cater to large groups/families very easily. I have been a fan of “Juicy Crab” restaurant, that is in Atlanta, Georgia. Since the name and menu of this place was pretty similar, I thought to give it a try with family. We ordered same thing that we order at that place. 1lb of headless shrimp with different spice levels as per our choices. I got spicy, wifey got mild and kids got same. The taste of food was similar to juicy crab as well. But it was a good thing as we liked it.

We also ordered oysters and those were really good.

We liked the food and our server was nice as well. The only thing that I turned me down was mandatory gratuity. I hate it when restaurants do it for no good reason. That’s why I have to cut 1 star.

Pros: Authentic Seafood Bag Experience Nice place Good Ambiance Friendly Staff

Cons: Parking is little tight. Mandatory Gratuity on party of 4+
