July 2024 DISAPPOINTED with staff. I do a lot of traveling and I have stayed here before with DIFFERENT Management. I booked aStudio at a certain rate through WORLD OF HYATT and when I arrived, I wanted a breakdown of my stay and they told me I had to wait because I had to check in first. When the lady started to do the breakdown, I told her the resort fees were included, and she kept arguing With me that that was not true, and I showed her proof in writing on her website. I then proceeded to call Hyatt and they said that it was included, and she was still arguing that it wasn’t and they spoke to her directly At the time of check out, they called the main manager, and he also kept telling me that the fees were not included that if I had some thing in writing or an email and I showed him the EXACT ADVERTISEMENT AND HE DID proceed to Issue me a credit for the resort fee but and said that the add was wrong I understand, but that is something that came from the Hyatt so it’s not wrong. I felt that they were very unprofessional, especially ROSA. I think that she should’ve taken the time to call the Hyatt or do something as well as the Main Manager. At NO TIME was I rude but I was angry. They only cared about the money instead of trying to verify what I was telling them all along.
2nd Issue was the parking. It went from $25 to 35 per day and added Taxes as well which I never heard of but that’s fine but it’s something that should’ve been disclosed in the beginning of the reservation because they did call me to ask if I needed parking, I said of course. But did not mention rate.
Below is the picture of the advertisement you will see where it says RESORT FEE INCLUDED. It’s not something I made up.
3rd Also found a lipstick case under the pillow. Bathroom bit dirty.
The place is beautiful but management and front desk VERY LOW CLASS. What they don’t know is that I travel a lot with the line of business that I am in and mostly stay with the Marriott and they have never EVER shown disrespect or made you feel like you don’t know what you are talking about.
EVER !!
For WHAT YOU PAY very low...
Read moreLocation is one of the main reasons to stay at this Hyatt Resort. One of 3 Hyatt Residence Clubs on Key West, SUNSET HARBOR offers vacationers quick access to Duval Street and Mallory Square. Individual units generally have an upstairs master suite with king bed, balcony, and bathroom. Guest bedroom is small, but sleeps 2 and also has a dedicated restroom/shower/sink area next to it. Main floor includes full Kitchen/Dining area, living room with larger size TV and another balcony. The living room sofa is also a pull out sleeper should additional sleeping space be needed. As of 2018-19 most of the rooms and outside pool have undergone significant renovations. I will provide updated photos of these when there in the next couple months. Balconies surround the pool/lounging area and have a generally unobstructed view of the harbor . Large cruise ships dock right in front of this area during the morning & afternoon but are gone before sunset. You can watch the famous Key West sunsets from your balcony or walk a few yards to the harbor area or Mallory Square for amazing photo ops. If you fly into Key West, a rental car is not necessary, but parking is available for a small weekly fees in the ramp next door to the Hyatt. Duval street restaurants, bars and shopping are literally a few minute walk from your door, and even the HARBOR WALK with numerous seafood restaurants, is only minutes away. The beautiful TRUMAN Annex , a showcase of beautiful homes and historic buildings, is located right next door to Sunset Harbor. Additionally, Fort Taylor is a short bicycle ride from the Hyatt. This area has a historic fort and swimming beach for a small entrance fee, and is a favorite spot for terrific sunset photos. We've been coming to here for over 20 years and it never grows old. Of all the places we've stayed in Key West, SUNSET HARBOR is our favorite. You can lounge at the pool all day, get to most restaurants quickly, and be back at the Sunset Harbor within minutes after having a midnight toast to cap the day. Doesn't get much better...
Read moreThe location of this place is great. It’s within walking distance of so much. If you’re not planning on leaving the island there’s no need to rent a car. Be sure to sign up for The Cooking School down the road.
The pool is wonderful. The landscaping and all the different tropical trees were a really beautiful touch. I could tell a lot of planning went into the design. I also loved seeing the iguanas 🦎 by the hot tub just before sunset.
The staff are all friendly. The reason why I give this place 3 stars is because it’s a filthy room. For a place that charges upwards of $300 a night, the rooms are absolutely filthy. The carpets haven’t been cleaned or changed in years and the two sofa chairs are so old that there’s nasty greasy dirty grime built up. On day one we asked room service to bring us two flat sheets. We used them to cover the sofa so we didn’t have to sit in that filthy. I bring a UV light with me wherever I go and the chairs were a nightmare.
The bathroom is nice but also very dirty if you look close enough. So much much grime and dirty built up everywhere. It seems like the cleaning staff are very lazy and just get away with changing sheets and vacuum.
The remote control for the television is also a disgusting nightmare. It likely has NEVER been wiped down and sanitized. So much grease and grime caked on all the buttons. So gross. I had to cut plastic bag and cover the remote.
If you stay here bring your own alcohol wipes and be ready to clean the place yourself….. Also the room smells of mildew.
A few more things. You can hear everyone in the neighboring rooms clear as day and every single day the garbage comes between 5am and 7am making very load noises that’ll wake up every single day except Sunday.
My wife and I enjoyed our time in the Keys and were out and about but the room was indeed a disgusting place to relax in. The pool sorta makes up for it but it’s still...
