Glad there is now a decent French boulangerie in my town!
Here’s everything I’ve tried so far: Almond Croissant 5/5 both the cream and chocolate were divine! Butter Croissant 5/5 flakey shell, soft on the inside and buttery! It’s so pretty to look at. It’s big! French Flan 3/5 it was not for me. Maybe I am used to the creamier flan. This was flat, thin, bland, and borderline sweet scrambled egg-like. I would not order this again. Pan Au Chocolat 4/5 the 3 different times I’ve tried it, the chocolate is not consistent. Sometimes it is enough, sometimes I get a bite of one tiny piece of chocolate Profiterole 3/5 it was too airy in my opinion. And I expected for it to have some kind of filling by how much hollow and airy it was. Disappointed to find it was all an airy choux. Creme Brulee 3/5 this is by far my least favorite creme brulee I have ever tried in my life. It lacks creaminess. The texture was off. It almost had a store bought creme brulee, custard jiggly-ness to it. I will probably give this one last try to see if there is some improvement. A little disappointed considering this was a classic French treat for me. Cinnamon Croissant 5/5 it was okay, nothing bad or spectacular to point out. Lemon Tart 500/5 PLEASE! MAKE MORE OF THESE! I’ve only tried it once and wished I had ordered more because the second and third time I attempted to get one, they are not available. I’ve probably called 4 times in 2 weeks to see when they can have it again and no definite answers. This is the winner. The lemon was blended perfectly. The crust was perfect. It was not too tart, no sharp lemon taste, it was not too sweet, just perfection is the word. I would come back for the lemon tart.
The customer service is 5/5 they always answer my phone calls.
There is a lot of parking available. There is about 4-5 tables available inside if you want to have some quiet coffee time.
Price is about $3-6 per...
Read moreI was so excited when I discovered the bakery and read the reviews. I love baked goods and visit any bakery I can find. I wanted to love it, I truly did, but I did not love it. Not...at...all.
I am a baker. I've been baking for over 40 years, so I may have a higher standard than others and expect a bit more when I stop at a bakery. I know baking, so I expect something absolutely delicious when it comes from a professional business and store front.
We ordered a variety of goodies to sample what they offered: tiramisu, chocolate croissant, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry pecan pie, custard pie/flan, and the raspberry cake.
We brought them home, and that's when the disappointment enveloped me. I sampled everything we ordered and did not comment on any of it until my husband and daughter tried them as well. None of us cared for most of it, and all three of us had the same issues with the baked goods. The texture was off, way off, and the taste and flavor were unpleasant, very unpleasant. The cheesecake tasted nothing as it should, and some items tasted old or had the flavor of sitting in an old refrigerator, uncovered for too long. None of the items tasted as if they came from an experienced baker.
Unfortunately, much of it ended up in the trash except for the tiramisu and chocolate croissant. Not one of us could eat the strawberry cheesecake, blueberry pecan pie, custard pie/flan, or the raspberry cake.
My daughter did enjoy her chocolate croissant and the tiramisu was enjoyable.
PROS: They do offer exceptional customer service, they have a nice presentation of their goods, and the store is clean and inviting.
I'm hoping they had an "off day," and I do plan to stop by one more time for a visit to give it another chance.

Read moreWe were on our way to the German bakery in Harker Heights until I did a Google search for bakeries near me and Chic popped up first, with the nice video that another patron took of the pastry case. My husband said we're changing direction and going there, lol. It's a Monday (late afternoon) so we expected the case to not be as full as the other pictures, but there was still a good variety of pastries to choose from. We purchased the following:
Pain Au Chocolat Chocolate Almond Creme Fruit Tart Strawberry Tart Blueberry Pecan Tart
They were all sensational in their own way. None of them were overly sweet, like an American dessert. They were light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness to make one not feel guilty in over indulging lol.
The chocolate almond creme crossaint was just a gem. It had a little almond paste coating on top of the crossaint and the filling was quite a nice surprise because it was a mixture of a custard and dark chocolate. The flavors balanced out nicely, and the crossaint was soft and chewy inside, with a nice golden crust on the outside.
The tarts were to be expected. Nothing wrong with them but nothing exciting to talk about if you've eaten tarts before. They all presented well and were cute and neat.
We'll visit Chic again. Hoping the next visit they will have macaroons and...
