I use to eat at chopstick when I was younger. I remember it being good and figured it could be nostalgic. Well... it was memorable but not in the best way. I went there and asked questions. Like what was in there eel sauce and what kind of soy sauce they use. I have a gluten allergy and just want to be safe. I think the cook was offended by my questions or just having a bad day. They seemed very unimpressed with my questions. I just wanted to see if I could eat theor sushi or dragon rolls and such. He pulled out a unmarked bottle and showed me. It was like a classic ketchup bottle that was frosted clear container that is unlabeled with a brown liquid. That didn't really tell me much. But, the picture outside showed they had bibimbop. I know that is safe! Just veggies on rice with egg and cooked beef with seasoning. Well... when it came out it was very sad. The rice was not cooked all the way or there was not enough water. The egg was over cooked and hard. It suppose to be runny so it can soak in the rice to give richness. The veggies... hardly any. They just gave zucchini and lots of shitake mushrooms. There might have been a sprinkle of carrot. That's it. No spinach, no bean sprouts, no kimchi. The zucchini was also sad. Was not fresh and might be close to spoiling. And there was just way too many mushrooms. The dish became this... slop like texture in the end and had little color. Just not appetizing and did not taste that good. Nothing like the picture outside. Ingredients are not listed.
If you come here, I recommend focus on sushi. They had lots of options and even unique ideas. Fun in that aspect. But not fun for someone with gluten allergy. The waitress was nice and trying her best tho. She couldn't speak very well due to surgery on her throat. But did her best to give customer service. So I give service 3 stars. Bad intention with cook, good with waitress. I give food 2 stars for my dish alone, but still think the sushi might be great! If only I could have ate it too. It was quiet and not busy when I went at like... I think closer to 4 pm. Doesn't seem busy. I recommend try the sushi for sure if you are vegan or someone who...
Read moreI order a A Philadelphia roll with my meal and ate one roll and I didn't like it so I sent it back when I was ready to check out I saw that it was still on my bill and ask them if they could take it off because I didn't like it. My waiter was very polite and ask them if they could take it off, when they responded they was nasty to her and yelled at her about it. She come back and said they were not going to take it off so I asked if I could speak to the one making the decisions instead they sent over someone else to try to convince me why it wasn't coming off and said because they are a small business they don't do refunds. I continue to ask for the one making the decisions to come me and speak to me herself and when she finally did she was nasty and rude. She kept saying we don't do refunds because you don't like something. I was more than willing to pay but it was the principle that I didn't even eat it so why should I pay for something I didn't eat. I've been going here since they open and never had a problem before but if that's how their running their business I will not return and spend my money here. They need to fired whoever that women is because she is going to cost them...
Read moreIt's OK, could be a lot better. (I lived in Japan for 3 years, and you can't get better than that)....but I'm going to take away a couple stars because their presentation takes a lot away from what could be really good food, and they lack attention to detail in their customer service. The picture of the cucumber salad in the appetizer is VERY different from what you are served. The Chirashi should be a beautiful display of fish on a bed of rice....but instead they put their fish on top of some chopped up salad that was carelessly thrown on the plate over rice. My husband ordered a couple beers. The first time the waitress asked if he wanted the bottle opened (not a twist off). He said yes so she did. The next beer she brought she did not offer to open it and just left. Fortunately my husband had a tool to open it with him. Another time.we ordered a bottle of plumb wine...and that was all we got. I had to flag down a waitress to ask for glasses to pour our wine into. I mean I drink wine from the bottle at home, but shouldn't the restaurant at least offer glasses? Paying attention to the small...
