Crossing Café — Restaurant in Kimberling City

Waitress nice. Cook cannot follow orders. Cook doesn’t know the menu. I ordered the egg sandwich The specific instructions are no tomatoes, no lettuce, no lettuce. The chef says there’s no egg sandwich on the menu and the waitress turns to him and says yes there is as I also say to him simultaneously “yes it’s on the menu.” So I guess this is a sandwich and he knows how to make the egg sandwich even though he says it’s not on the menu but seems to not read that there’s no tomato no mayo and no lettuce on the sandwich. I pay my $9.80 for a lousy sandwich that wasn’t made to order. I drive away with a sandwich in about 10 minutes later, I get a drink to eat with my sandwich. Guess what’s on the sandwich?tomato lettuce, and mayo 😡. I called the restaurant back and tell them what happened and I’m already on my way to the airport airport. Waitress answers the phone who help me and I told her what happened and she said come back and make a new sandwich. I said I cannot, I have a flight to catch. I had to throw the bread away, with the mayo, tomatoes and lettuce leaving me with smears of mayo on the egg that cost me $9.80. 😡

I would have appreciated maybe a credit for the sandwich at a later date but that was not offered to me. Now, if I would have returned, I would’ve gotten a full sandwich that would’ve been made exactly as I asked earlier. But because I had to catch a flight, I was not entitled as to a new CORRECT sandwich.

I now live in the area, and I really do not want to return to this restaurant. The cook doesn’t know the menu, he cannot read instructions, he got snarky bc he told us that an egg sandwich was NOT on the menu but it was. I am writing this to management to notify them of the poor experience I had on my first try at this brand new restaurant. My visit was June 11, 2025. I did give the waitress a $3...

Just ate there for lunch. Atmosphere was clean and inviting. Unfortunately the 2 girls working didn't greet us upon entering. We asked the older seevwr what was good on the menu? Her response was she doesn't eat here she doesn't have time. Almost felt like she should work at Dicks Last Resort. Asked for a lemon for h2o 3 times never brought it, the other server brought it. Charged a party tax of 18%. I didn't see it on the menu since l like their omelettes so much. I just got in the omelette line. When paying our bill was over $45. I have a tip since l didn't know a party tax was already added. Our waitress got a $11.47 tip and just served us one cup of coffee since my husband had his own drink....
