This is my first review of chili's in kingman, even though I've never had a great experience at this location. They are always very slow to greet tables and take drink orders, last night was no exception. The server said he was bored when we asked how his night was going. Our appetizer was brought without plates or silverware. The spinach dip was very good but needed utensils since the very thin chips were no match for the cheese on top of the dip. When our food arrived we had to ask for silverware and drink refills. I ordered the honey chipotle steak and shrimp cooked medium well. The steak was cooked rare. I sent it back. The server brought it back and said his manager used a temp thermometer to insure it was med well (now all the honey chipotle sauce was cooked off) It was still very rare. We had to flag him down to show him it still wasn't right. He offered me a new steak to go which his manager brought to the table. This steak was about half the size and had no honey chipotle sauce at all only the garlic butter that is served on the other steaks. When i asked why i received a totally different steak the manager glared at me for a few seconds then repiled "it's the same, it's just a different cut of meat". Instead of the $14.99 steak i ordered, they replaced it with the 6oz sirloin for $11.00. She then came back to the table and said she didn't charge us for either steak. She still charged me for the side dishes which i kinda ate but what good are they without the main course! The manager and server both gave attitudes like it was my fault they didn't cook my steak right. I even apologized to the server and as he turned to walk away He replied "eh its no big deal". We should have known better then to try going here again. We won't make this mistake again. All of the wonderful reviews are obviously employees...
Read moreEdit: This is not an entirely positive review, I guess the owner didn't truly read my entire review. I'm lowering my star rating even more now to reflect the carelessness of the owner. Too bad the owner cares even less about customers than the the employee's. I will now not be back to thiscustomer's. 5 guys here I come for my burger fix!
This is the first time I've been to a Chili's in about a decade, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I didn't get too adventurous, I got the bacon cheeseburger, but omg, it was Delicious! The meat was actually seasoned and cooked perfectly, all juicy and yummy. I took the top bun off the burger to look at the meat patty, and it looked like a real fresh patty someone hand formed, not some perfect circle frozen patty.
I sat in the bar area, and our server was very friendly, and attentive to the tables' needs. We never had to ask for a refill
Unfortunately, there is one blemish to my visit. Apparently, if staff at the bar has a child, they're allowed to let them play in the bar area. There was a little girl throwing paper airplanes from one hightop table across the bar to a girl with long white blonde hair. As you would think, the little girl did not have the best aim, and not only did that paper airplane land on our table more than once, it landed on someone else's table too. I'm very surprised this location allows such disregard for its patrons, considering this is a special training location for Chili's. The little girl also looked like she was sick but she was allowed to fling her germs all over the bar area. I bathed myself in germ x after leaving the restaurant. Shame on the "manager" in charge for not keeping a more professional setting. No one should have to worry about being hit in the face with anything while they're trying to...
Read moreSeems like there's a Chili's in every town with more than 15,000 people. I've eaten in probably 10 of them in Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, and now Arizona...the sole entry for which was this location in Kingman. And it was by far my worst experience so far.
One of the upsides to a chain restaurant is familiarity. One should expect a certain level of consistency from one location to the next. And while the menu and decor in Kingman were familiar indeed, the quality of both the service and the meal was below-par.
My wife and I walked in, surprised to find no hostess to greet us; typically a Chili's will have 2 on duty. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it was quite a while before she appeared. After we were seated it was about 20 minutes before our waiter appeared to take our drink orders. Acceptable when busy, but outside the bar only a half dozen tables were seated, and only one other in our section. After ordering our food, it was nearly a half hour before we were served. I ordered the sirloin, which was undercooked and accompanied by very overcooked steamed broccoli. Our waiter was just indifferent in general, and only came by to refill our drinks once in the hour we were there. By the time we left even my wife, who had wanted a salad rather than another roadside burger, was reconsidering not just hitting the Carl's Jr. Drive-thru. I recommend this...
