Worst restaurant experience, EVER.
I knew once we decided to dine here, there would a long wait time and somewhat overpriced food.
The hostesses were nice and helpful, and they were right on the ball when they said a thirty minute wait time (typical for a Friday night). And the texting service for letting us know when our table was ready was good.
When we sat down and our waitress came to our table she was friendly, but she asked me for my drink order, I told her I was still looking, so she went around to the other 8 people in my party, ordered their drinks, and then walked away without my order. She started bringing the mixed drinks and sodas to our group and that's when I had to tell her she forgot to take my order, and then placed my drink order. She also forgot my moms iced tea and brought her water instead.
When it came time to receive our appetizers, we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to bring us plates. She brought out a salad for one, and she forgot soup for the other. Once the appetizers were done, she brought out the soup, but it was the wrong one. She handed the soup to my mom and it was chili with tortilla chips in it to be disguised as the chicken enchilada soup. She didn't tell my mom that they were out of the chicken enchilada soup until after she handed her the bowl.
One of the mixed drinks had a piece of plastic floating in it, and we just picked it out trying to be nice. The waitress did offer to replace it but we didn't want to wait another ten minutes for a drink.
When we got our meals after waiting an hour, the explosion salad was hot and wilting, and the chicken on it was cold. Another guest ordered the Cajun pasta without shrimp or chicken and there was chicken on it (and I'm sure we were charged for it). The steak we received was also as small as a chicken patty one would put on a sandwich.
Another in our party did not even receive her food until we were all done eating already. She picked off our plates (which we allowed) but nobody even came to tell her that it was coming or anything. We had to tell the waitress her food was forgotten.
After we paid, another in our party bit into a French fry and pulled a long hair out of her mouth from the French fry. She immediately went to vomit in the restroom.
The service was horrible and we were apologized to by the manager, but we still probably spent a good chunk of change for sub par service...
Read moreMy family and I went yesterday we were seated pretty fast. After being seated two waitresses (which later we found out were in training) took our drink order and appetizer order. We got our drinks fast; our appetizers were taking a bit and we had to remind them and they came out shortly after that. We placed our order then. We waited 45+ minutes and our food never came out! We asked for our tab because we were leaving since our order was not out. They had the audacity to bring the tab for $15. I asked to speak to a manager which happen to be "Floy" at the time. We explained and instead of him apologizing as a manager should from one manager to another, he stated "If you ate it you pay for it". We explained again we did not drink our refills because we wanted our food and my kids were hungry. I told him we were not paying for it due to the lack of timely service and communication. He took receipt, threw it away and as we were walking out, he says "Nice things you are teaching your kids and that we were not welcome back". I let him know he needed to hire more staff and we left! That was so unprofessional. I felt harassed, embarrassed and judged as a parent and at that point mad when we did NOTHING WRONG and for him to make that comment about my kids was uncalled for!!! My 6-year-old is asking why that man was mean to us if we just wanted to eat. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS CHILIS AND I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DON'T EITHER. I will drive longer to get better service and actually enjoy a pleasant meal...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at Chilis in New Caney. We ordered the classic nachos. It took over an hour to get the nachos !!!!! and ……when it showed up we were shocked. It was melted over seasoned chips with I have no idea what was on it. It was soggy and looked like dog food. We told our waitress “this is not nachos”. And she said yes it is, and we said “no it’s not” she said it’s chilis classic nachos. It was disgusting to look at and we tasted it and it was horrible. Ask for the manager and I told him it was not eatable and soggy! He said “yes it doesn’t look very good”!!! What??? I failed to take a photo but you would have been shocked to see what was on that plate!! I did taste but did not eat any but my husband tried to eat a few and I told him he was going to get sick. He vomited all the way home and all night from this disgusting food!! The manager apologized that we didn’t enjoy our food….and took 50%off????? This is the first restaurant review I have ever given so we don’t complain about restaurants but this was the worse. I retired from the hospitality business where we owned restaurants and never in my 40 years have I ever seen anything like that food served to a customer. The waitress made herself scarce and we never saw her again until the check came! The poorest hospitality I have ever experienced! DO NOT EAT at Chilis...
