All ingredients are of high quality, sushi is the best way to taste the freshest of the seafood, not overpriced, portion just right. But the sauce for some hot dishes such as spicy oysters n fish collar is too salty, can make it much lighter. When we ordered the sashimi dish, the staff kindly gave a big bowl of rice for us to share. The day we visit is busy, but the only staff serving is smart and quick. All orders come fast n nice, even the seaweed of handrolls are still crispy. The udon is not on menu, but we just like some hot noodles to round up the meal. Thx for the good preparation n quick response of the chef. The Japanese cheesecake is very nice, with a "raw" way of presenting it.

Very disappointing to say the least. The restaurant is modern and the vibe is cool. Fantastic location in totem lake made me hopeful that this would be good. I was wrong, the food is mediocre at best. Ordered the 10 piece sushi while my friend ordered Udon (which isn’t on the menu but we saw someone else eating it and asked). Despite the modern presentation, the sushi was plain and felt like sushi you would get at QFC, nothing memorable. The included roll was eh, just okay. My friends udon was watery and the noodles were bland, it also include over fried tempura. Will not be returning.

The hot stone is okay... Or maybe it doesn't meet my expectation in contrast with the huge popularity, the salmon sashi and crab appetizer is pretty good, all the sushi pieces are fresh and delicious, especially the scallop, sweet shrimp, and uni, they also have the foie gras nigiri, which is topped with cotton candy, it's a bit overwhelming; their sushi rice doesn't taste like being seasoned with sushi vinegar so this is how they are different from other sushi restaurants. The dessert is pretty impressive, try the Panna Cotta, for sure!

I recently visited Umigawa on three separate occasions in the hopes of having an enjoyable dining experience. However, I regret to say that my overall experience was far from satisfactory. From the poor service to the subpar quality of the food, it was a letdown from start to finish. Sadly, I cannot envision myself returning to this establishment in the future. Entire Sashimi combo ($45), consisted of 4 different variety, I got little sick towards the end of the meals.

Let me delve into the specifics of my disappointing experience. Firstly, the service at Umigawa was consistently lacking. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive throughout my visits. It was evident that customer satisfaction was not their priority. Requesting assistance or placing orders was met with indifference, resulting in a frustrating and uninviting atmosphere.

Secondly, the quality of the food was not at par with the high prices charged. I had expected an authentic and flavorsome Japanese culinary experience, but what I received was far from it. The dishes lacked finesse and were disappointingly mediocre in taste. The ingredients seemed substandard, and the presentation lacked the care and attention to detail that one would expect from a reputable Japanese restaurant.

Despite giving the restaurant multiple opportunities to redeem itself, each visit only reaffirmed my initial disappointment. Regrettably, I cannot justify recommending Umigawa to anyone seeking an enjoyable Japanese dining experience. The lackluster service and below-average food quality make it a place I would strongly advise against visiting.

In conclusion, my encounters at Umigawa left a sour taste in my mouth. The poor service and underwhelming food quality simply do not warrant a return visit. I sincerely hope that the management takes note of these shortcomings and endeavors to make significant improvements. Until then, I would caution others against dining at Umigawa if they are seeking an authentic and satisfying Japanese...

We went here last night with a large group, and to their credit, they were able to seat us fairly quickly, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

When we sat down, none of us had chopsticks or full place settings, so we had to ask for them. It also took quite a while before our server came back to take our order. Once food started arriving, it came out slowly and in a random order, some people were still waiting for their dishes while others were nearly finished eating. There was no communication or acknowledgment about the delays, so we weren’t sure if everything had even been served.

It appeared that there was only one server working the entire restaurant, which we completely understand must have been overwhelming. However, with no updates or check-ins, it was frustrating to see hot dishes like tempura and calamari sitting on the counter for a while cooling before being brought out.

As for the food itself, it was okay. Portions were decent and aji was fine, but not particularly memorable. For the prices, though, we expected a much smoother and more attentive dining experience.

Overall, we left feeling disappointed. While we sympathize with how short-staffed the restaurant seemed, the lack of communication and slow service really impacted our night, and we likely won’t...

I've had the pleasure of dining at Umigawa multiple times, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional. The freshness of their fish is truly impressive, with every dish showcasing the highest quality ingredients. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a special occasion or a night out with friends.

The service at Umigawa is top-notch, with staff who are not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly kind and attentive. They take the time to explain each dish and make sure your needs are met throughout the meal.

The modern and sleek décor of the restaurant adds to its appeal, creating a sophisticated ambiance that's perfect for a date or business dinner. The food itself is expertly presented, without being too flashy or over-the-top. But what truly sets Umigawa apart is the remarkable taste of each dish. From start to finish, every bite is a delight, with flavors that are expertly balanced and nuanced.

Overall, I highly recommend Umigawa for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in totem make. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal out, this restaurant is...
