Tsunami Sushi & Thai — Restaurant in Kissimmee

UPDATED February 23: Let me make this very clear.

1. After I went to this restaurant a few months ago, I posted two reviews, one on each of my two usual platforms. That's all. No more. And NOT on Google at that time.
2. The initial reviews on those platforms focused on the poor, snotty and very slow service that I received.
3. Then I received harassing, nasty messages through private messaging on the initial platform. In almost a decade of posting on that platform, I have received a personal message from a stranger only once previously. Since posting the review for this restaurant, I have received four. All of them were very hostile. The most recent message was sent just two weeks ago, which is why I posted here on Google.
4. At that time, I also posted on three other sites calling out this bad behavior. There is one review per platform and every single one is posted under my account with my name. The words you are reading comprise the only review that I have posted on Google about this establishment. (And, I think, the first review I have ever posted on Google. I suppose the only silver lining of this nerve-racking experience is that now I am diversifying…)
5. I never asked for an apology --- not that one was sincerely offered within the flippant fury that came at me in the owner’s response on the other platform and now, here on Google. I don't need to be condescended to about the way that groupon works. (They most certainly do offer a print option; useful in a pandemic.) I just want to notate that a business unleashing their belligerent hench-people on someone who wrote a negative but honest review of their experience is resoundingly unacceptable behavior.
6. I am a long-time lover of many cuisines and a frequent diner. I left a restaurant review, as I sometimes do. That review is not very good because my experience was not very good The fact that there are several strangers sending me nasty messages that are directly linked to this restaurant implies that something is very wrong with the social media culture created by this establishment.

ORIGINAL GOOGLE POST: A few months ago, on a different website, I wrote a negative --- but honest --- review. The owner responded almost immediately accusing me of being a complainer. Within days, I received three messages from random people calling me names and telling me ‘where to go,’ if you know what I mean. It was ridiculous, but I ignored it at the time. Recently, I received a message from another rando through the website on which I left that review. It was nasty. I mean the kind of things that I would not repeat in a whisper to a close friend, let alone repeat in a public online forum. This is not right. It seems like Tsunami is part of some sort of restaurant mafia; a team of bullies. So, I am re-posting aspects of my original review here and elsewhere. The basics: Ordering over the phone was relatively easy, but when I arrived the order was not ready. Neither of the servers knew how to honor the voucher that I brought in to use. They both told me to “just use it next time” and asked for my credit card, as if they could not be bothered to do their job. When I insisted, one of them finally made a phone call and, as it turned out, it took seconds for them to input the information and process the order. When I first arrived at this Thai restaurant, I was hesitant—the place was nearly empty, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, walking out, I had a completely transformed impression of the establishment.

The customer service was absolutely top-notch. From the moment I sat down, the staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to ensure I had a great dining experience. It was refreshing to be in a place where I felt so well taken care of.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The variety of sushi rolls was impressive, offering creative combinations that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. Each bite was bursting with fresh, bold flavors, and it was clear that great attention had been paid to the preparation.

The Thai dishes were equally remarkable, delivering the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy that you hope for in authentic Thai cuisine. Every dish felt like it had been crafted with care, and the flavors were vibrant and satisfying.

The drinks were another highlight. Whether it was a fruity cocktail or a refreshing Thai iced tea, the beverages were expertly prepared and perfectly complemented the meal. The balance of flavors in the drinks made them stand out just as much as the food.

This restaurant is situated near plenty of fun activities and is only 14 minutes away from the outlets. It had only recently opened and is definitely a gem in the area for Japanese and Thai cuisine. The menu offers a variety of delicious starters and main courses that will appeal to children and adults alike (there are chicken nuggets, sliders, pizza, PB&J, cheese nips, and fries for the little ones). Those with sensitive stomachs will appreciate the non-greasy, fresh, and easily digestible food that maintained great flavor. My family ordered Tsunami Fried rice, Pad Thai, Volcano lava sushi, Tsunami sushi, Chicken crunchy sushi, Thai Chicken wings, etc. All of which arrived at our table in good timing. As a spicy food lover I enjoyed the scale of 1-5 they used to measure how spicy you could have the Pad Thai and Tsunami fried rice. The service was personable and engaged in making sure the experience was fun and well-taken care of. Which is great after a long day of exploring the area with the family.
