A Culinary Delight at Flippers Pizzeria - Old Town/Celebration
During our recent visit to Kissimmee, Florida, we had the immense pleasure of dining at Flippers Pizzeria located at 5770 US-192, Kissimmee, FL 34746. Our experience was nothing short of extraordinary, setting a new benchmark for exceptional dining.
Ambiance and Setting
Nestled in the vibrant Old Town district, Flippers Pizzeria offers a charming and inviting atmosphere. We chose to dine al fresco, allowing us to soak in the lively surroundings while anticipating our meal. The outdoor seating was comfortable and well-arranged, providing a perfect blend of ambiance and comfort.
Kid-Friendly Excellence
Flippers Pizzeria goes above and beyond to cater to families with children. Their kid’s menu features favorites like mac & cheese, ensuring even the youngest diners find something delightful. The fun, family-friendly environment in Old Town Kissimmee adds to the overall appeal, making it a perfect dining destination for families. The staff’s attentiveness to children’s needs and the availability of high chairs and booster seats further enhance the family dining experience.
Exemplary Service
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Our server, Melisse, was the epitome of excellence. Her attentiveness to our needs, coupled with her extensive knowledge of the menu, made our dining experience seamless and enjoyable. She provided insightful recommendations and ensured that our glasses were never empty, all while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Adding to the personalized service, the chef made rounds to each table, including ours, to inquire about our satisfaction and to see if there was anything else we required. This gesture showcased a commitment to customer satisfaction that is rare and deeply appreciated.
Culinary Excellence
Our culinary journey began with the Toscana Cheese Bread, a delightful starter featuring melted garlic butter, aged mozzarella, Romano, shaved asiago, fresh basil, and oregano, accompanied by a side of pizza sauce. The blend of cheeses and herbs created a harmonious flavor that tantalized our taste buds.
For the main course, we opted for a 16-inch pizza divided into two delectable halves: Hawaiian and Mediterranean. The Hawaiian half was adorned with generous portions of ham, smoked bacon, and fresh-cut pineapple, offering a sweet and savory combination that was simply divine. The Mediterranean half featured a fresh basil pesto base, spinach, chicken breast, house-roasted red peppers and grape tomatoes, Kalamata olives, aged mozzarella, and feta. Each bite was a medley of rich flavors that transported us to the Mediterranean coast.
The crust of the pizza was a masterpiece in itself—light, airy, and perfectly baked in their authentic brick oven. The use of fresh, artisanal toppings was evident, elevating the pizza to a level of culinary artistry.
Beverage Selection
Complementing our meal was a selection of local craft beers and Italian wines. We particularly enjoyed the Toboggan Blonde and the Pinot Grigio from Mezzacorona, both of which paired exquisitely with our pizza choices.
Conclusion
Our dining experience at Flippers Pizzeria was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of a welcoming ambiance, unparalleled service—highlighted by Melisse’s exceptional care—and culinary delights crafted with passion and precision, made for an unforgettable evening. We wholeheartedly recommend Flippers Pizzeria to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience in the Kissimmee area. This establishment has set a new standard for excellence in both food and service, and we eagerly anticipate...
Read moreFor the first time in over 3 years of being in the area, I decided to bring my children here—and I truly regret it.
The only positive experience came from Natasha, who provided excellent customer service and showed genuine care. She immediately listened to my concerns and offered a solution, either a discount or to remake the pizza. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a complete disappointment.
The pizza itself was unacceptable: a \$26 “large” that was barely cut, with toppings scattered unevenly. The bacon was not crispy as requested—it wasn’t even properly prepared, just strips thrown on carelessly. When I voiced this to the GM, his demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of accountability, I was met with facial expressions of annoyance and disgust from him and the kitchen staff.
When the GM approached me, the first thing he said was, “So, what’s wrong with the pizza?” After I calmly explained, his only response was, “I can make it over, but it will be the same.” That statement alone shows a lack of pride in their product and no concern for customer satisfaction. I told him my children were hungry and that if they remade it, I’d need to keep the original. He went to retrieve the pizza, handed it back without care, and when I told him I would not return, he sarcastically said “ok” and walked away.
This was not just a poor product—it was a display of poor leadership and complete disregard for customers. Natasha deserves credit for trying to make it right, but management sets the tone, and the GM made it clear that customers are not valued here.
I will not return, and I will happily take my business to Marco’s or another Italian spot that values quality...
Read moreWe came here the night before and they were very busy. I was prepared to leave a bad review because they had several tables that had no people at them, but no one was cleaning for the next guests and they had a long line of people waiting to be seated. We left and ate elsewhere, as it didn't seem we would be seated any time soon. We decided that if it was that busy, however, it had to be good, so we came back the following day a bit earlier, and were seated within a few minutes. We ordered an antipasto salad, which was delicious, and a Flippers Big Pie, which is sort of like a deluxe, and we couldn't stop raving over how good it was. Our server was attentive, even when they got busy, she was on top of things. We ate on the outside patio, which was pretty. The only reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 for atmosphere is because our conversation was frequently interrupted by extremely loud engine noise from bikes driving slowly past. It's not the restaurant's fault, however it did pose a small problem when it came to the experience of the evening. I definitely recommend eating here, and even eating outside on the patio, just be aware ahead of time that there will be some loud noise to contend with when having a conversation. The food is...
