How disappointing after a long day at the doctor, to stop and get a bite to eat and when I went through the drive-thru at 7:20 ,in the evening the young woman who waited on me at the Kitty Hawk North Carolina Wendy's, was very quick to get my order ,interrupt me as I was trying to actually" spend more money" and purchase more, but being I was cut off mid order, I did not even finish ordering everything I needed. What bothered me even more was to order a sour cream and chive potato, at the window & specifically asked for the butter and sour cream to be in the bag, And last I knew salt pepper, was automatic, ?? though that also was requested to, then on way home open my bag find the order I had minus sour cream, which means either I go without or I would need to go to a store and purchase, which if I had time to do that naturally I would have just went to the grocery store. I think what bothers me the most was not being understood very well, and I have no issue with our out of country people who work in the stores and our shops and drive-thrus, but if you cannot understand english, or the person ordering ...perhaps someone who can should be at the window instead, also as I went to ask, at the window instead for the additional items that I was not allowed to order in the drive-thru... I was very rudely interrupted and handed my change, my bag. .(and even though it is rare for me, because I am not one to be rude") I'm complaining for once, for I don't believe if I'm going to spend money anywhere, that I should not be treated as the customer who keeps you in business, and to be shoved my bag, and ignored an she spoke to her headset, and was dismissed, with my granddaughter as witness, for she has better manners at a young age of 9 then a young woman who works in customer service and should be embarrassed and ashamed to not be setting an example of . at least saying thank you have a good day , since I did wish her a good day as I also thanked her again..lol" but was ignored, I guess Wendy's in Kitty Hawk is doing so well they do not need my business and probably most people business if I'm to guess correctly, I'm sure I'm not the only one to be treated in this manner. Am I going overboard? Maybe but if I do not it will continue, I'm hoping someone who is Superior or manager / in charge of this will read and understand it is your locals and others who keep you in business so all I ask is get the order correct, let us spend money instead of cutting us off mid order, and at least try to smile and say thank you, I do . so sorry for the rant, but with Summer coming I know I'm sure to see more of this in other areas also, ...
Read moreI can’t believe how pleasant my experience at a Wendy’s drive through on a Friday evening was. My two best friends and I were driving down to Duck for the jazz fest, and had been debating for some time where we were going to stop for a bite to eat. After much deliberation and back and forth, we finally decided on Wendy’s, the deciding factor being their one of a kind baked potatoes. You just can’t get potatoes like a Wendy’s baked potato anywhere else. Well, 2 and a half hour’s in to a 3 hour drive, blood sugar rapidly falling, and the sun long gone, we finally saw the warm, glowing, warming glow of Wendy herself. We pulled up to the drive through and began to order. When we finally asked for the baked potato, our lovely hostess said, “I’m so sorry mama, we’re out of baked potatoes, it’s gonna be another 20 minute wait if you want one.” Dear reader, let me tell you, if this news had been delivered by anyone other than the sweetest voice behind that black box, it would have been utter and unrecoverable disaster in this old station wagon. Something about the true regret in her voice that she wasn’t able to provide registered more deeply in my heart than my daughter’s first words. Who could this woman be to care so much about three strangers? We had to know. The anticipation built as we waited for car after car to collect their food to-go, (one of them surely holding the last few baked potatoes for the night) finally we pulled up to the window, and the most beautiful sight did we behold: the face of an ordinary kind woman with a sweet voice and tender eyes. This was not mother Theresa, not Martha Stewart, not a third unnamed philanthropic woman, nay, this was the face of beautiful, ordinary citizen with a far beyond average capacity for love and compassion and understanding. If you are anywhere within a 5, no 50, no, 500 mile radius of this Wendy’s, it is your moral obligation to support this specific institution. Don’t just fill up on Dave’s single,...
Read moreFood was normal for a Wendy’s. Missing sauces that was asked for (but that’s a pretty normal occurrence with fast food restaurants). My complaint is with the woman who took my order through the drive thru. Did not get her name and am unsure if she is the manager or not. But it was easy to assume when I was giving my order that she was extremely unhappy...for no apparent reason because I simply drove up and waited patiently to place my order upon her request. When I pulled up to the window she basically snatched my debit card out of my hand. No smile. No “Hello”. Nothing but complete attitude. I don’t expect anyone to be overly excited while working but when working in costumer service at least be a little nice!!!! I’ve never been treated so poorly especially for doing nothing wrong but ordering food! Simply put, if you go to this Wendy’s expect to be...
