Ok so I would give this place negative stars if possible but you can't. I have to start by saying you should usually never expect much from Denny's in the first place.....it is just a place you go to grab a quick, inexpensive bite to eat.
We came in after a long road trip back home to Klamath, so yes we were tired and hungry but we saw it was busy so we knew we would have to wait a little and it was late, around 9:30.
There was only two servers running the show, one of which was the manager. The manager looked he was scared of his own shadow. He purposely avoided eye contact with everyone, looked dodgy, did not acknowledge us as we stood waiting 10 minutes to be seated. There was another server who looked at us and a couple who had been standing up there waiting to pay their bill and leave for about 5 minutes...and finally he told us we could sit anywhere and he would eventually get us menus and help us he just needed to serve more drinks and food first.
So indeed he did all of that and some....he dropped off menus, took our drink orders and this was like 10 more minutes in. Then 15 minutes later we got those sodas and he took our order. He didn't ask me if I wanted bacon or sausage with my meal and I got one piece of each. I do not eat sausage at all. My husband got up and got our soda refills himself. Yep!!! Nobody checked on us obviously!!! The table, floor, syrup container, everything was sticky.....dirty......didn't dare use the restroom.
My husband's food was grossly overcooked and should not even have been put down in front of him like that. All the tables around us and I mean ALL had issues whether it be missing food or food issues but food was not comped and apologies never offered and the manager never did a thing to make it right. BTW, I worked in a restaurant for 7 years and yes I was a manager and yes I know how it goes.....and also I know GOOD customer service. PERIOD.
Our server did work really hard, I will say that. He wasn't a bad guy, but at least one more server minimum was needed and a hostess...also a job I have done and you guys didnt have one!! Not a good look!
Get it together Denny's!!! Clean your place up! Hire the right people and give good service and perhaps you can do a better business but wow.....I mean wow! You guys need to...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Worst service I’ve ever had the last few times I’ve gone! A few days ago we went into Denny’s to dine in, the waitress was unbelievable. I’ve never seen someone so unprofessional in my life. When I had asked for a knife to cut my Philly cheese melt the waitress was behind the counter texting she had looked up at me, then looked back at her phone and turned around. Once I got my knife It was filthy. I took a napkin to wipe it off and show the waitress and she shrugged it off, another waitress gave me a new knife and apologized for the incident with this other waitress. I decided to get some food tonight after 12 and they only do takeout which is totally fine. We had the same waitress from the previous time and it was even worse. I’ve never seen someone use foul language to customers while they’re ordering, she was throwing menus into customers hands, cussing out the cook for a mess up she had done on a ticket, screaming that she’s not answering the phone and people can come in to the restaurant instead, she kept telling every customer that nobody tips when they get take out. When it came down to me ordering I was charged way more than what was on the menu, I hadn’t gotten anything extra, I’ve always gotten the same thing for the same price. She charged my card and I asked her what the extra charges where for and got nowhere. At this point I was over the disrespect and had decided while paying she didn’t deserve any tip, she then complained to the next person that I can complain about extra charges but I can’t leave a tip for her “not even .89¢”. I would give a name but she wasn’t wearing a name tag. I’ve heard other waitresses complain about working with her because of the disrespect. When I was walking out about 4 people who where waiting to order set the menus down and walked out with me complaining about how...
Read moreI The Klamath Falls, OR restaurant has made such a tremendous turnaround. Staff is more like a family! The head Manager, Laz, is out with the customers, visiting, making sure they are pleased with the food, the service, the surroundings - especially now since they have been given the go-ahead to finally fix the roof on the outside so the inside ceiling can be fixed, staff takes more pride as they serve, as they keep things clean, their individual pleasant contacts with all of we customers, finally the heat/air also repaired, the carpeting cleaned frequently, everything is so clean and as a result more customers coming in and leave after their meal happy instead of complaining. As a long-time customer having gone through so many staff changes over the 21 years living here, originally from So. Calif. we look forward to our very frequent visits, keeping up to date with the staff and their lives as they remember what we are going through in ours lives - we try to be there for them as well. It is fun to go in on the weekend days and have to wait for a booth or table because they are so busy. Laz and his wife, Alecia, such a great pair - what one doesn't think of - the other one does and both ALWAYS for the good of we customers, and also their staff. Yes, there are always some sour grapes in our town that will write in to Corporate complaining about every little thing, or every server, or that it's too hot or too cold inside or even outside and in general just miserable within their own lives, so they pass it on and make others miserable.
Instead, Corporate should be complimenting the tremendous success all of the Klamath Falls staff has made. Sincerely,...
