Wow. A surprise gem. I was hungry and looking for something nearby (Pleasant ridge, near Western and 75) and I took a chance on Maco's Tacos. Photos of the menu are here on Google maps. Choices and prices looked good. I had the pastor and carne asada tacos. I'm not a fan of cilantro, so I had them without. (I apologize for not having photos but I wasn't planning on reviewing, I was just hungry). The tacos had 2 corn tortillas and were stuffed with meat with some guacamole and onions. A lime was included for each taco. Delicious! They both had great flavor and tasted great. I also had a side of rice and a side of refried pinto beans. The rice was good and the beans were fine. My son picked it up so I'm not sure about the establishment, but he said that there were only a few tables and seats so it's mainly a To Go place. He said it looked clean. I'm curious about the other options such as the burrito, flautas, and quesadillas. I'll be returning soon to try them out. Good tacos at reasonable prices. Check them out.
UPDATE: So good I had to try more on the menu. Plus my wife wanted to try the breakfast tacos. She had the potato bacon egg cheese tacos and told me they were very good. I wasn't able to get the breakfast so I went back for more pastor and carne asada tacos. Delicious. I also wanted to try the flautas. They normally come with lettuce, queso fresco, tomatillo, and sour cream, but I asked that they put them on the side. I included photos this time. Flautas were very good by themselves. I think there's jalapeños with the chicken. If you want delicious tacos at a good price, check them out. They have tables and an eating area. Nice, clean place. Friendly staff....
Read moreif i could give this place six stars i would. dude at the counter was super friendly, good vibes. i ordered a grande steak burrito and it was delicious, i also got a side of street corn and i about had to take a lap it was so good. i could eat a pound of it fr. they also have the lil things of green & red salsa, both of which are very tasty. i would post photos of everything but its already half eaten (yes i had to pause just to write about how good it was).
it is a very small place, so i would recommend to-go (unless it’s maybe just you). the inside can really only accommodate like a hightop bar with a few stools at it. idk if they’re able to but if they put like a picnic table or something outside that would be cool for nice weather days. anyway, 100% recommend this place. i’m for sure going back, it’s too...
Read moreI would add more photos but everything looked so good that I ate it all before taking a photo even occurred to me. That alone should tell you how great this place is. The prices are awesome. The service is friendly and fast. The restaurant is squeaky clean and relaxing. The food is authentic and delicious. Even the presentation looks amazing. What more could you want? So far I’ve tried their Mexican street corn, the fish taco, ground beef taco, the Calicheeto burrito (yes, it has actual Cheetos on it), and the shrimp quesadilla. Every single one was phenomenal but the fish taco deserves special recognition. I feel very fortunate to live less than a mile away from this place. It’s hands down my new favorite restaurant in Knoxville. I’m serious, y’all. If this place ever closes, I will literally cry...
