Where do I even begin with such an absolutely fantastic restaurant? Do I begin with the wonderful atmosphere? The absolutely phenomenal and unique food? The friendly and helpful staff? I simply do not know, but I will happily describe my wonderful experience at this little piece of heaven on earth restaurant.
We came to this restaurant on Mother’s Day at about 3 in the afternoon. We were instantly seated and greeted with the wonderful southern hospitality that this great city is known for. We looked over the menu. There were many unique things that grabbed our attention, but probably the most exciting was chicken nuggets with waffle breading. Personally, I choose the chicken and waffle. Service was very fast when it came to ordering and getting our food. The staff were wonderful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable on the entire menu. They really helped steered my family in the right direction.
We got our food after waiting for not a very long time, and we were all blown away at how simply good it is. The chicken was absolutely divine; it was perfectly juicy and had absolutely delectable breading. My father exclaimed that this was the best chicken he’d ever had in Knoxville. The waffle was absolutely wonderful; it was very fresh and had a lovely sweet taste.
Furthermore, I’d like to mention the wonderful service again. My sister and mother had chosen to split a meal, however it arrived rather small. So the servers decided to bring them more of this heavenly chicken for no extra charge. This was so sweet of them to do, and I feel like it should be mentioned to show the brilliant character of this restaurant and its hospitality.
However, this is a chicken place so of course I should mention sauces. If you take anything from my review, please take away the absolutely fantastic sauces. Their honey mustard is some of the best I’ve ever had, and there simply wasn’t any other sauce that didn’t blow my family away. Each was absolutely perfect, and my family was simply astonished about this amazing little restaurant. I’d say the ones we tried, but there were so many that I didn’t catch them all. I can just assure you all were fabulous, and that you just need to try them.
My experience at this restaurant was just perfect. The food, the atmosphere, the staff. Everything was super great and totally worth the price. This truly is a jewel of a restaurant for this city for both visitor and local. If you’re thinking of trying this place, just do it. You won’t regret it for a second. You’ll be thanking...
Read moreWay too much food. I got one appetizer, tacos and pimento cheese mac & cheese side. I had half sweet, half unsweet, and no lemon. Three huge tacos came out and they were amazing. I ate two and took one home. I took most of the side home too. Tacos chicken was so moist and tender, slaw, and sauce tasted great. I love mac & cheese and pimento cheese, but I didn't love that side. Friend had sweet potato waffle fries. They were good and covered half the plate. My friend had a craft beer and loved it. My friend's entree was misleading, but not in a bad way. It said chicken tenders, but it was more like chicken breast. Three huge ones, that was juicy and tender, but too much to eat. Friend's meal came with a biscuit, but it was dry, and not hot. Lunch prices were very reasonable. Service starting with hostess was speedy and waitress very helpful since we hadn't been there before. Menu has enough selections to find something you like, even if your vegan or need gluten free. Parking near restaurant, not difficult to find and it was not expensive. Restaurant is in Market Square. Murals in Strong Alley was very near the restaurant. Alley is like most alleys, smelly and some garbage, but it had some very nice murals of Dolly Parton, Knoxville Zoo, Downtown Knoxville, and Smokey mascot. Weather was beautiful and it was a...
Read moreMy recent visit to Myrtle’s Chicken + Beer in Knoxville was nothing short of phenomenal, earning it a well-deserved five-star review! Nestled in the vibrant Market Square, this spot combines Southern comfort food with a lively, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff greeted us with genuine warmth, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout our meal.
I decided to try both the burger and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and both were absolute winners. The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor, served on a toasted artisan bun with fresh lettuce, tomato, and a tangy sauce that tied it all together. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, though, stole the show—crispy, golden fried chicken with just the right kick of spice, balanced by house pickles and creamy coleslaw. The portion sizes were generous, and every bite was a testament to their commitment to quality.
The craft beer selection was a fantastic complement to the meal, with local brews that paired perfectly with the bold flavors. The vibe was casual yet energetic, making it ideal for a fun night out. Myrtle’s Chicken + Beer is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious food and a great time in Knoxville. I’m already looking forward to my...
